I like your post Dan and agree with it. I've been posting on forums for about three years now, and I've only been banned from one forum of about eight (only because Bon Jovi's 40 year old overweight house moms couldn't stand the fact that I thought Jon Bon Jovi's vocals were going, and the band was losing their touch, which they are). But in more democratic boards that seem to allow a difference of opinion, I've got some 5,000 posts at a few of those, because it's just fun to post there, and people DO like me around there.
Just like yourself, I'm not changing my posting habits. I think my loyalty to this board and love for this band may be a good argument for that (despite my absence between February and May). If it's not liked, I can be kicked off too, though I must say that I've never been personally approached and told there's an issue with my posting so I feel at this time I'm in good shape. OK, I WAS approached earlier in this thread.
I was willing to welcome him because I never had a personal bout with him before. He seemed well spoken and could be a nice contributor to the board. I made an innocent remark in regards to the situation, not him, and he wrote a novel trying to bash the regulars and myself, which I found to be totally unnecessary.
Me? I'm also through with this, though really I was never in it to begin with, just kinda contributed opinion here and there.
