Here goes:
Perhaps, deep down Phil feels that he is inferior (in musical creativity and imagination) to Peter. And this perhaps is the main reason why he treats the Gabriel-era with such apparent disdain - and why perhaps he makes strange statements about fans wanting LOC more than Supper's Ready.
Now, I know that Peter and Phil are buddies (I think Phil was best man at Peter's wedding wasn't he? or vice-versa?) but it's quite common in close friendships for one person to feel inferior top the other.
I think McCartney always felt inferior to Lennon for example.

I think your obsession with this topic indicates a deep seeded inferiority complex to Phil, manifesting itself with these curmudgeonly posts

. How's that for some dime store psychology?
