I do remember that Uptown 78 show recording...my buddy recorded it to cassette, I have no idea where my buddy is today.

We used to listen to that show, 2 things stick out in my mind.

After having played the Chicago Stadium earlier on the tour, Phil remarked how nice it was to be back in Chicago and in a theatre as well (Uptown, not very big, maybe 3000?...Saw PG there too for the "Melt" tour, one of the best concerts I've ever seen, also revered by XRT disc jockeys).

But even more than that was just a stunning rendition of Ripples. You might want to check the WXRT website for their Sunday night concert vault programming. I'll take a look today...they must still have the recording.

I have the recording, called Master of Chicago on the Highland "label". It used to be the best version but now someone has done an upgrade from a better source called SAB 5 ver 2 which is supposed to be the definitive one, which I need to track down. I am always looking to tape directly off radio when I can to get the best possible versions and I know they sometimes rebroadcast stuff.

If I remember right, Phil said something about the sound being lousy or tech problems at Chicago Stadium when they played earlier so they did this Uptown gig as an extra to make up for the earlier concert.
