Genesis - The Gabriel Era - Book and 2 DVD set.

I picked this up at Tower records today, very impressive casing with Paul Whitehead's artwork. The label is Art House Classics and it's a 2006 release covering 1970 - 1975 with footage. Saw b/w footage of "The Knife" w/ Steve standing while playing, from Italian TV, as well as a snippet of Stagnation. THe book is 90 pages, covers every album in that time frame, song by song, with interesting photo's, written by Bob Carruthers and Hugh Fielder. It's not an official release, however, if anyone know's anymore about this, I'd be interested. Looking forward to watching both dvds tomorrow, hope it's not as cheesy as the 2 "Inside Genesis" dvds. Thanks.

I was thinking about buying it, but didn't as it is not an official release and those review dvds appear too often at the moment.

as far as i know it was released as part of an "independent review" series and didn't involve anyone from the band.

anyway, reading your comment, maybe now I will get one

It doesn't seem to be part of the Classic Rock Review series, this is by far a better package. I plan on watching now, and will give my review today. The book impressed me, so far!

if you want to write a proper review about it, we would publish it on our website. It should include a summary of the content, description of the bonus material, maybe photos of the package and some kind of valuation (just check the other reviews on this site). let me know if you're interested

I'll think about it. I just have to review the "Classic Rock - Inside Genesis."

@ missedexit: I saw the double-dvd set in shops, looked very nice, but I better wait for your review - there are too many bad dvds out there at the moment

I rented it a few weeks ago and enjoyed it but the irritating copyright messages over the images drove me bonkers. It wasn't bad for an unauthorized release. I won't buy it though.

@ missedexit: haven't heard anything from you. Any chance that you will still write a review?
