Genesis Fans are a tough crowd. We have been spoiled brats for decades and we demand no less than blood! Very difficult to please.
I like 'Calling All Stations' and I have the 5.1 DVD playing right now. Marc |

* Pardon mon français but I beg to differ. I believe that Genesis has the most loyal, underappreciated core group of loyal fans that any band has ever had in the history of rock and roll. I think they have some of the biggest egos in music (Gallager Bros, Sting and Bono excepted). I guess coming from their wealthy backgrounds, they really never had to ever give a rats red arse what their fans wanted...they never really needed our money. Rant over....for now. ![]() * what I am about to say is intended to be tongue in cheek...or is it??? Mmmmerry Christmas everybody ![]()

For me although Calling All Stations is my least fav Genesis album I've got to say that I prefer it to any prog-related album released since 1990...if one of the rated neo-prog acts had released it, it would be acclaimed as a masterpiece...just shows (for me) how high the standard of Genesis albums is!

I haven't listened much to any neo-prog acts since 1990.
Well, I've got one Dream Theatre album, and two Ayreons, if these count as neo-prog, then that's my neo-prog collection. And the only one I really like of these is Ayreon's Human Equation. But back to the topic. CAS is not one of the albums I play frequently; truth be told, it is probably in the group of the less-frequently-listened-to Genesis albums... together with ATTW3, SEBTP, Duke, Abacab, Genesis and We Can't Dance. And FGTR, of course. I enjoy listening to it, though. Yes, the fadeouts get on my nerves, and not all the songs are perfect (but there are only two "survivors" on We Can't Dance, either, so there). But some very fine songwriting on the album songs and on the b-sides, too. Banjo Man, for example, is a wonderful piece. Well, at least I think so.

It's not Al Stations. It's "Ulster Shuns", a nationwide Irish organization for the banning of that type of coat.
Now all I need to find out is who is General Failure and why is he reading my harddisk...
