Seen them five times, all of them in Munich (-Germering).
Selling England just once, at Zirkus Krone. And four nights of The Lamb in Germering. Grandiose show. The Growing UP show can take a running jump.

Been to see them 4 times
SEbtP - Royal Albert Hall X2 (1st time was when Steve Hackett played Firth of Fifth with them as an encore) Foxtrot - Southampton TLLDoB - Royal Albert Hall I'm seeing them again at the RAH on the 2007 tour. It's a shame they won't be in Europe again. I'm hoping to holiday in Canada in the next few years so if they continue to play over their then I hope to get a chance to see them.

Anyway, I enjoyed The Lamb tremendously, even more than Selling. Always had seats in the back rows so I got more of an overall impression. That's actually a good thing in my book, because a) the musicians resemble their Genesis counterparts better from a distance and b) certain effects are completely lost on the people in the first couple of rows. Best example: The utterly brilliant and bright white light blinding everyone (except for the first rows) during The Waiting Room. Such a simple yet great effect! It is such a pity that TMB won't go near Southern Germany again. I am told that it's because of poor ticket sales. Are there no Genesis fans around here? I refuse to believe that Robert and me are the only ones!

This Saturday in Toronto will be number 10 for me.
Probably the last time since they fold after this tour. Rumours have it that they will return in the future doing Collins era material with Martin Levec as frontman. Dave B |
