Buffalo HSBC

The show was fantastic. The setlist is accurate.

Opening up with Behind the lines was perfect.Phil and Chester were as I remember them 25 years ago.

Phils Gretsch drum kit looked very simple compared to Chesters DrumWorkshop kit.

Mike and Daryl alternating bass guitar and lead guitar were great to see up close (9th row floor).

Tony Banks was out of control................uhmmm not really. He had a very laid back part in the Genesis concert. His ability to recreate the sound of old was right on.

They played about 2.5hrs and the place was packed. Phil had the crowd in the palm of his hand as always.

I couldn't pick a favorite because the show was perfect.Domino is a new one that had a ton of energy in it.

I'll see them again in Cleveland !!!

how was the audience reaction for "old" stuff like Ripples vs the pop hits, like Hold on My Heart, etc? was it more of a pop crowd or a prog crowd or could you tell?

Interesting question.I would say the crowd was a mix.You could tell the people who knew the words and had that look on their face ( or like me a grin from ear to ear ).

It took the sound guys a few songs to dial in that punchy bass sound. I think that is why Domino was so damn good. Then to go into the drum dual and Los Endos.

For a fan of 28 years to see them all together again..........is very difficult to put into words.

KG

Oh, I almost for got. My friend and I got up the next day and went to the home of the "Chicken Wing", The Anchor Bar in buffalo and treated our selves with a Genny Cream and twenty wings. They got the whole Buffalo wing thing started back in 1964.If you are ever in Buffalo you owe it to yourself to this treat.

kgveteran, I see you had close floor seats in the 9th row. How would you say those were regarding being able to take the whole stage in, and for sound? I have about 20th row for 2 shows, which I got by pot luck, but I wanted to sit close but not to close to not be able to take in the whole stage. And sometimes the sound is better sitting back a bit so you get the full effect of the speakers. So I think I am in a good spot, dead center about 20 rows back--wanted your input on how things look from the 9th row.

did you take any pictures?

Squonkers,

I must say I actually found myself at one point doing an 'Old Man' by cupping my hands behind my ears and found for those few moments that I was able to hear better. I had thought to myself before the band came on stage [recalling our wild weekend earlier this summer & my four day binge of concerts] that I had forgotten to bring any earplugs. I soon felt there was no need for them.

I do imagine that I was in the 'Maxwell Smart' "Cone of Silence" since I was so close.

Interesting was the sound of the acoustic drums compared to the triggered sound the audience got.I'm sure it will sound different in Cleveland being back farther.

I can't friggin' wait.
