Danlaw is in Philly right now....right there, waiting outside the arena to get in..... can you see him.....his car is blue and it looks like he has a Rolling Rock in his hand----and I hope he remembered to turn off his headlights.....

about to see his first Genesis concert. Man I still remember that feeling of giddy anticipation when I saw my first one, Duke tour, 1980, so I know what ol Danny boy is feeling right now.

Dan, we will look forward to your recollections and memories.

you just flat out beat me to it Jim, you da man.
I got into Genesis as a youngun of 16 when Trick of the Tail came out in 1976 and had their whole back catalog within months, but like I think I told you at Nearfest, I missed the Wind and Wuthering tour in 77 and will always kick myself for that, but I think it was because I had the SAT or ACT the next morning and so I didn't go.
For some reason Genesis skipped St Louis on the ATTWT tour and I was not as resourceful in the travel department when I was a lad of 17-18 as I am now......

hmmm, interesting observation that he liked the indoor stage light setup better than the outdoor, of course it helps that all the inside shows get full use of them. Also good to note that the stage is lower and easier to see from the floor---I did think from looking at the pictures from Europe that people up close in front must have really had to crane their necks and be looking up all during the concert

If you happened to be "vertically challenged" you would certainly have to crane your neck and look up. I am of average height and if I looked straight ahead I would look at the lights below the stage level. I didn't, of course, I looked up to see the band... Had it been a band of female musicians they would have had to wear trousers or long skirts if they wanted to, uh, avoid too much exposure...

Here we go folks....The review. The concert I waited for ALL OF MY LIFE, it was the best night of my LIFE. Met UK76..shout out to Ulli My time had finally come. Went super early to meet up with Forum members and it made the time 10 times better! Walking to the seats, the stage got closer and closer and closer. While I was sitting in my seat before the show started, I was saying out loud, " I bought these,"? The television appeared and the name of the place appeared and Behind the Lines began and I was hooked in my place. I would not sit again for over two and a half hours.

Phil had the crowd in the Palm of his hand the whole night! His drumming was SPOT on and didn't miss a note or word. Daryl's solos were I think better than they were during the WCD Tour. Chester....was classic Chester, just plain awesome. Mike hasn;t looked this alive since the mid 70's. I mean he was all over the place, very into the show, even Tony smiled once or twice. Tony was as he always is, On the button, not one bum note, not one screw up and the keyboards sounded fan-fricking-tastic. I would like to thank all that I met there last night and all who I will see tomorrow night for making this even more special than MY FIRST Genesis concerts, and I can't wait until Thursday. I can't beleive all of my life, I was hoping to see at LEAST one Genesis show, Now I am going to be able to see two!

PS: My camera died after TWO FRIKING PICTURES, so if you want my cell phone pics, let me know! I will be taking some tomorrow, I HOPE!

Awsome review....most enthusiastic I've read so far....how the hell were you able to stand without someone pestering you to sit down all night?
