Dan, sometimes its hard to tell with you especially when you go on your little tirades and get excited.

I imbibed at 3 of the 4 shows I went to, but still only needed one break. And I amazed myself at how fast I made it in and out, even though I was on the floor at 3 of the shows. I missed only about half of HOMH at 2 of the shows, and most of TIAA at one.

At both Chicago shows, I made it only half way through HOMH before I got back. I was kinda shocked actually at how fast I made it. Then again, being up in the nosebleeds, I was probably the only one who knew the set thus knowing to break RIGHT after "Afterglow". By the time I was finished, I had about five people behind me

I'll never forget singing my heart out in "Ripples", and the lady next to me asking "How could you run to the bathroom during and make fun of HOMH, and belt out every word to THIS song!?" Proof that the song did manage to appeal to SOMEBODY...

It was more of a shot at the real a-holes who are not real Genesis fans, who were only there either for beer or any other reason other than the music!

pretty funny, though i was also kinda sad that so many people (people that were fans enough to buy a ticket) were in the dark with regards to the older material.
hopefully this tour (and our cheers and sing alongs!!) will prompt them to go out and buy some new (old) cd's!!

Sat next to a lady in "HARTFORD" who was an old fan of sorts. Had some short discussions about certain songs and set list without spoilers. Later , after THEIR bathroom BREAKS, I notice her teenage son & daughter dull & unresponsive for old material but wild about songs ala the "Heard that one in a commercial on TV" mentality.

Truly heartwarming in Pittsburg turning around to see some guy old enough to be my Dad [67 plus] singing along to the newer material.

Damned encouraging in "HARTFORD" to be in a bar after the show with my two Guinness & a handful of peanuts to see some 26 year old guy who'd been to the show. He and I wound up hugging during a discussion about T-shirts [He liked my 'Save Darfur' and started talking to me. he was wearing a farm-aid and I told him about my Mom growing up on a farm] Next thing I know, he's going on about "Firth of Fifth" and I almost fainted. That was so cool. he's young enough to be my son, & he KNOWS! Nice , funny guy. Dialed his sister & held up his cell to the speaker in the bar so she could hear this "really cool song!" {Afternoon Delight!}...........

I'm 14 years old, and I sang along to every lyric/ad-lib throughoutb the ENTIRE set!!! Boy, did my Dad (who's 40) give me a strange look when I sang along to Stagnation. The entire row did, actually.

Yeah, I KNEW it was bad when some 60 year old guy behind me said, "Keep down the racket, I'm trying to hear the good songs!" Further questioning revealed that he had never before heard I Know What I Like, and was basically only there to hear Invisible Touch, Mama, etc. What is the world coming to? A relatively large consolation then, that I got Phil AND Tony's autographs!
