well that is certainly interesting. I presume that is because they can't fit either into the "Bowl" stage??

someone please videotape or at least take a lot of pictures there--I want to see what they do lightwise and whether they will use video screens at all.

FWIW, there's a long list of no-nos for the Hollywood Bowl Genesis concerts, and they include "Cameras, audio and video recording equipment"... So ordinary folks like me won't be taking any pics.

technically, that was the rule in both the arenas I saw the tour at, but that didn't stop me from taking pics with a pocket size digital (see my pics in the photogallery for Columbus and Chicago). Since virtually everyone in the arena had cell phone cameras, its kind of hard for them to kick people out with cameras

The first LA Show was cut short after heavy rainfall made it impossible for the band to continue. No Encores were performed. See our tour blog for details

I read the tour blog and another review on the Movement forum. I can't believe that Hollywood Bowl stage doesn't protect the band's equipment from rain. You would think with all that electrical equipment they would have some cover. This other reviewer said the keyboards went completely out during IT I think, and Tony had to just stand there. he also said Phil had a lot of messups and lost his place a few times during Follow You Follow Me. He said the rain started really coming down during In the Cage (raindrops keep falling on my head).

Too bad that ruined the show, on the other hand, kind of a unique concert experience I am sure

I think part of the problem is no one ever counts on rain as a possibility...so when it does rain, we're much less able to go on.

I do think it's awful though that they didn't have protection for the band equipment!!!! It's one thing to say the audience has to suck it up (and, BTW, umbrellas are one more thing Not Allowed at the Hollywood Bowl), but totally ridiculous to expect the performers to be rained on, and the band's equipment to be ruined...

(BTW, that's what happens when the LA weather report says "30% chance of rain, and if it rains, it'll be light showers" -- it always rains, and it pours.)

Last Show...Ever?

Well, I'm happy to read on the blog this morning that the final show at the Hollywood Bowl last night went off without a hitch---or rain! The setlist was back to normal (no extra goodies performed, though), and Phil told the crowd at the end that the band had no immediate plans for the future, though that shouldn't surprise any of us.

So...if last night's performance was the last Genesis concert ever, I just want to say, THANK YOU Genesis for coming back one more time. And THANK YOU also for all of your wonderful music.

I'll still keep my fingers crossed for a "Lamb" tour with Peter & Steve sometime in the next couple of years or so, but even if it never happens, I'm delighted that our boys have gone out on a very high, happy note. (And I look forward to my 2CD set of the San Jose concert, too!)

THANK YOU Genesis! My favorite band in the whole world, and always will be.
