I voted for III.

I still like these dark sounds and the drums.

yeah! The drums on Peter's third album are great. Apart from the fact that he didn't use any cymbals on the albums, it was also the time when the Phil Collins drum sound was invented (Intruder). Phil put his stamp on the 80ies with that sound!

I voted for IV. I took me a really long time to like it but now I can't live without it. My nickname comes from San Jacinto

that would be US. I've always loved that album and it took me ages to explore all those sounds and instruments.

I hope there'll be a 5.1 mix at some point.

second best would be the second album. it has some of his finest moments, like Home Sweet Home or Mother Of Violence. I always hope that he might play one of those songs....but he doesn't!

I voted for Ovo. However, if I was really honest I don't have a real favourite. All Peter's albums are my favourite just that, depending on how I feel, I may play one more than any of the others.

I've also got 2 albums from the Growing up/Still growing Up tours. The first from the Growing up tour is good as it's one of the first of those I bought. The second one is from the Birmingham, England show that I was at and I think it's great cos I'm sure you can hear me and my (now) wife on it cheering like anything between tracks.

My favourite album from Peter is "3". The reason ist phil's drum sound.
I love it. Album 3 is followed by "2" (my first album) and then the others.

III but Up has slowly but surely become my second favorite. Such a strong release so late in the game.

strange that his first album didn't get a single vote so far. I know it's a favorite for quite a lot of people

Decission: Impossible?

Although Peter's first album is a personal favorite (¿how can such an eclectic album work? - I guess that's what prog-rock or art-rock is all about), and though Up has been a (silent) revelation, we cannot forget that PG "found his voice" during the Melt/Security period. That is really important. Now, Melt is really powerful, but I think that it lacks a bit of cohesion and that it has aged a little (¿isn't it, in the end, a pretty recognizable eighties record?). My choice is Security for three reasons: 1) songs became longer and sturdier (compared with the former period); 2) IV was one of the first real and convincing "world music" incursions, 3) musicianship/drama/poetry: the particular cases being "Family and the Fishing Net" and "San Jacinto". (Oh and, by the way, the drumming is just awe-some! Sorry Collins fans.)
