Hi, all. I have to say that the third one is my favorite - and yanked me totally out of what I was listening to, at the time - utterly changed my pov on music, and caused further investigation. So glad for it, too.

A masterpiece among all music.
Was the 1st CD to be a full digital recording.
Peter Gabriel, Robert Fripp & Tony Levin.

III
Peter Gabriel, Robert Fripp, Phil Collins, Tony Levin...need I type more? No.

The first one is my favorite. I love the way Humdrum sounds in surround! All of Gabriel is great, and it sure is hard to choose one.

I would have to say Up is my favorite. It was such a surprise listen when comparing it to his previous two albums. At first, I couldn't really get into Up...but upon more listens it grew on me. It has since become my favorite PG album...closely followed by PG I-IV and Us. For some reason, I can't get into So. The singles were fun tunes, but other than that I find the album to be somewhat boring.

Without a doubt I think the best Gabriel album imo is Security. Huge huge drum sound, a lot of complexity, I think the most consistent and most satisfying album he has done. The Rhythm of the Heat is just spooky, San Jacinto sparkles, Wallflower...they are all quirky and good. The Melt album (3) is a close second, with Intruder, the great Family Snapshot, Games without Frontiers and Biko.

Call me silly (which I may be) or overly religious (which I am not), but if I had to describe Peter's albums with a single adjective, I'd have to say: Passion is an inspired album. In every sense of the word.
Bottle of red wine, darkened room, "Passion". Try this and tell me you don't believe in anything spiritual after. I challenge anyone with this one of any faith, or non-faith.
