Which are your three favorite Gabriel solo-albums?

I would go for US, sometimes it is also UP...

My first Peter Gabriel album was "IV" and it is still my favourite.

By the way, the german magazine "eclipsed" (edition July/August 2006) presented a "Peter Gabriel shopping list" today:

Their Top albums are:

1. IV
2. Plays Live
3. III

I would recommend the same

I'd have to go with IV, followed by III, II, I, US, Birdy, TLTOC snd trk, OVO, So, Up, Plays Live.

very tough question. Besides the fact that nearly all Peter Gabriel solo albums are on the same quality level, they are also very different (musically)

I listen to UP quite often, so this was my choice.

Passion! without a doubt.
I never listenend to world music before - until I heared "Passion" which simply blew me away. An outstanding piece of work!

Passion for me, too.

Played the album to friend recently, and she pointed out the there is only one piece with chiming bells in it - It Is Accomplished. How subtle is that! What an impressive (almost pious) idea.

Plus, a couple of years back I heard a choirboy practice With This Love in Chester cathedral. Suddenly that cool dark building seemed so warm and welcoming.

Call me silly (which I may be) or overly religious (which I am not), but if I had to describe Peter's albums with a single adjective, I'd have to say: Passion is an inspired album. In every sense of the word.

the third one was the first Gabriel album I ever bought - and it still is my favorite record of Peter's. Especially Family Snapshot and Biko are real masterpieces!

I must admit to have a passion for the second album, but in the end "Us" is my favorite

I still remember when it came out it took me a long time to really like it. Bit I played it regularly ever since.

Especially Come Talk To Me and Secret World are among my all time favorites (genesis-related)
