Thank You, Genesis! We Love You!
I wanted to post a message to all Genesis fans and to the band (hey, you never know!) to say "Thank You" for the Turn it On Again Tour.
I have been a fan since the early '80s but only saw them once then, during the Invisible Touch tour - I believe at Madison Square Garden. I missed their later tour(s), but became fearful I'd never get to see them again. Remember - so many bands ended up hating each other and never toured again, or wimped out on touring again because they were rich...or who couldn't play at all and had to play with 200 extra musicians to perform some semblance of their music. But, Genesis, OUR beloved Genesis made the HUGE effort to reward their dedicated fans with a song list full of gems and an AMAZING live show that really paid homage to the mythology of Genesis, for those of us who know about it. I saw them 2x in the NY area (NY and NJ) and was deeply moved. I'm so happy they played stuff from Duke's Travels/End and also did Ripples! And, I Know What I Like and In the Cage RULED! After watching the Rome video, it just reminds me of how Genesis throughout their history always put the music and the fans first. We never saw the ego or arrogance that almost every other band makes their priority instead. But with Genesis, it is that humanity - the warmth and the artistry that that creates that makes them so beloved. It's so obvious what has made them different all these years. Thank you Genesis for never forgetting about the fans all these years. You gave us a tour that we will never forget! You guys RULE! We LOVE YOU GUYS! LL |

I really can't say it better than that. Thank you, the greatest band ever, Genesis. Not only did you come back to Philly for the "last" time, but You came for three nights and I can now say, I saw Genesis TWICE in my life, and I still get butterflies when I think of those two days in September 2007. Floor seats seeing my idols on stage. Awesome!
