I am confused.

The Anatomy Of A Tour DVD is not region-coded, i.e. it has region code 0.
I just checked it in both my DVD drives (one is RC2, the other one RC1) and it plays just fine.
If the DVD had anything but RC0 an error message would have appeared in one of the drives.

Well, I can most readily assure you it would not play in my DVD player, with an error message that it was not the right region. And my friend who went also purchased it and it did not play in his player either. I had contacted the Genesis store and informed them of it, and last I heard they were looking into it, so, its quite possible they corrected the issue with more recent releases of it.

I bought my copy at the Munich show on July 10, 2007, so I'm guessing it's a problem of the player and the DVD not getting along with each other rather than older pressings / newer pressings. I would have thought the industry had solved this issue, though. Apparently not. One workaround I found for CDs that would not play on my CD player is to find someone whose hardware can read it and have them copy it onto a CDR. Since you already have the original this cannot even raise a legal problem.

I hope your problems with it solve themselves. It is quite a bit of a nuisance for such a short (<5mins) DVD.

Well, not to belabor the point, but in most circumstances I'd agree with you.

And, my DVD player is not ancient, but I've had it for about 3 years now. So, it could be *older* players versus newer players too.

But, as this also happened to my buddy who went to the show with me, its a little harder to pin this on being an isolated case.

When I spoke with the Genesis store, they stated that those in Europe would not have the issue, its just some of the United States customers that were experiencing it.
