Wow, I am liking how they adapted the stage for the up-coming in-door shows in NA. Very awesome, it looks like they will be incorperating more lighting

Thanks for the sneak peek

Hello!

I saw the band in Columbus OH and it was awesome! However, I have a slight problem and I don't know where else to post it....

I purchased the Genesis "Proposal For The Stage Design" at the concert (in the United States). I was told by the sale-person at the arena that the DVD with the book was a DVD of the concert.

I had not seen the adverts on the webpage for it... so I didn't know any better otherwise.

Anyway, after finding out more about here on the web, I found that not to be the case.

However, no matter what is on the DVD... it doesn't seem to matter, as it will NOT play on standard North-American DVD players at all. I get a message from my DVD player stating "Prohibited due to region code".

I paid $60 for this booklet! And it was sold to me in Columbus, OH... (most definitely in the U.S.) even tho it will not play on U.S. DVD players.

Who do I need to speak with about this to get this issue resolved?

Many thanks!

Buyer beware...You're SOL, unless you were to purchas the cheapest DVD player you can get tour hands on like from a Supermarket or something. ($20-50 range). Sometimes the el cheapo players have no region code chip firmware built in. You can try that and if it srill doesn't work, take the DVD player back. Otherwise you may be able to play it on your computer if it has a DVD drive. Hope this helps.

Well, for a "customer" perspective... thats horrible. There is no justifiable
way I should have to go out and spend MORE money on something just to get it to work the way it should anyway. I mean, if the DVD is not meant for U.S. players.... why sell it in the U.S.? I love Genesis as a band (and realize that they have NOTHING to do with this), but that's kinda shady. At the very least, there should be some warning or something.... And, I checked. There is no warning. There isnt even a warning on the sale page on this website. Even to get it to play on my PC requires software that I have to buy.

Your reply does help. I guess now I'm just venting. "Genesis", as an organization... should care enough about their fans... ...the people that buy their merchandise... to at least be up front with them.

I understand/sympathize with your rage. But this is a fansite though run by some kind folks (and foot masseurs) in Germany. You would be better to vent this rage at the true culprits. The ones responsible for merchandising.

:: Bravado ::

E-mail them they should have you send the package back to them for full refund. Caveat - I know there is no region 0 version of that DVD.

Ah! Well, "rage" is a bit strong. I'm not throwing anything!! "Disappointment" probably sums it up better.

However, I didnt know that Bravado was the merchandisers.... so in that respect... THANK YOU! I will do just that! Thank you thank you thank you!

It looks like the Genesis store is down. Is this a Mafia Boy style attack. We'll have to wait and see.

Your welcome.

I was quite surprised myself but luckily, I have a multi-region DVD player and was able to watch it.
Frankly, you are not missing on very much if that is any consolation. It lasts only for about 12 minutes or less. It has a mock digital vitual reality time lapse on how the stage was created and how the lights work but there are no interviews or songs on it. It's cool to have but not an essential component. I also bought the book at an American gig in Denver and was surprised it was not NTSC format.
But most computers can play other region DVDs but for only a limited amount of times, wierd but that's what my PC prompts.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the review! 12 minutes? Wow. That sort of makes the $60 price tag even seem a bit steeper!

Still... it was a great, fun show!
