Peter Gabriel HAS NOT ruled out reunion!!
According to a reuters news report, Gabriel has not ruled out the idea of the 5 piece reunion. Here's the quote:-
"Autumn. Or spring," he said with a laugh when asked about a potential arrival date. "That usually suffices. In some year." He did not rule out some kind of collaboration with his ex-Genesis bandmates, who are on the road with a successful reunion tour. There had been talk of presenting the 1974 concept album "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" on stage, but Gabriel couldn't commit to clearing his schedule for the time necessary to do so. "I'm hoping to see the show because I think they're going to do some more European dates, he said. "Nothing is excluded (in terms of a possible reunion). We're still breathing and we don't need to be wheeled onto the stage. But I don't know. It's quite a time commitment to get it sounding right. When WOMAD (Gabriel's world-music festival) started and got into heavy financial trouble, (Genesis) extremely generously agreed to do a benefit with me, performing. I learned then it takes a lot longer than you think to relearn what you think you knew." here is the link to the article: Gabriel juggling new album with array of projects Lets have your thoughts on this. I really hope this is true, Funny what happens when Zeppelin rocks the boat ha ha! ![]() |

But I think everyone would just love to see a reunion tour with the classic five-man line-up (with Chester as back-up drummer for when Phil is on vocals). As has been discussed many times on these boards, the setlist would be an interesting dilemma, as would be the decision on whether Gabriel wears any costumes. Personally, there isn't a show on earth that I'd rather see!

I would love to see this...even stripped down...very simple stage show/lighting. Just get up there and play and sing. I would vote for Pete and Phil doing a duet of Suppers Ready splitting sections on leads/backups. Peter could play keyboards and do background vox during Phils leads on the post Gabriel material. Shoot, they could even do Take Me Home as an encore.

If Gabriel turns up to watch the show he would have to dress up as a flower to disguise himself ha ha! ![]() |

He Has Now--procrastinating Bstd
You can forget about a whole Genesis reunion. Check this out:
No Genesis Reunion says Gabriel - Planet Rock We will all be dead before this guy ever makes a commitment to this. Excuse after excuse after excuse. I can only conclude he is afraid he can't do it anymore and it won't live up to his expectations. Anyone who rerecords virtually ALL his vocals on the Shrine Lamb show on Archive 1 is just too much a control freak to make this work. The guy is extremely talented and I love his social commitment and most of his music, but quit jacking around us Genesis fans once and for all Peter. If you are just afraid to step up to the plate and celebrate Genesis' great legacy, just say so once and for all. Last edited by Squonkman : 10-20-2007 at 05:06 AM. |
