Welcome back to the forum Bigrael, good to see that you have put all our past differences aside.....i think?
I've been reading your post & i can kind of understand your hostility towards one or maybe all of us ( us 3 regular posters anyway), your coming across as if you still have an axe to grind!
Okay granted the last time you were on here wasn't so good...but hey you had a lot to say too, you have to admit that you jumped on the hostility bandwagon yourself but apologies were made & we moved on..or so i thought.
It doesn't make for pleasant reading that you have been researching a member because you don't like his conduct when in retrospect you haven't exactly been Mr Diplomatic yourself, your behaviour since you came back on here has come across as bullying (in my eyes anyway) & yet your accusing this person of bullying too....JJ doesn't seem to have a problem with what was going on and he seems a decent enough guy who saw all of this for what it was...banter...no more no less.
You seem like a die hard Genesis fan and i guess you would like to 'flood' this forum with your wealth of knowledge regarding them past & present...but honestly could you really tell all 4 of us something we don't already know?.....Maybe these other forums you have been checking out might be more suitable to you...i mean why would you want to come on here and post what you know to 3-4 people max!...when you could spread your word to a lot more readers, or are those forums just as dead????
This forum has seen it's fair bit of flame wars in the past and were all guilty of it even past members who have left or were forced out (through their own doing)...do we really want to go through that again, I know it's not all down to you...but i know your sensible enough to know that contempt breeds contempt.
I'm personally on here because i wouldn't like to see the forum go....This site means a lot to me, for the past 18 months it's been with me through thick & thin and if it wasn't for this forum, i wouldn't be at the stage in my life i'm at now and that's the happiest i have ever been, I have some very special friends on here & i don't like seeing this childish bickering anymore....Last year this forum was alive esp coming up to & during the Genesis tour, it's a pity you didn't know about it then, then you would have seen for yourself how the forum ran and i'm sure you would have enjoyed it immensely....People did leave this forum because of a certain persons behaviour, but let me tell you now, you are most definitely thinking of the wrong person.
It's good to have new members on here (welcome JJ ) & i'd love to see some more but whilst it's all quiet on the Genesis front what is there to talk about?
Maybe when the new box set gets released then things might liven up again..hope so anyway.
This message is not to entice anything and your probably wondering what the hell has it got to do with me? but i figured if the rest of the members can voice their opinions then why can't i?...

I've buried the hatchet with Dan. I think (hope) it was more mis-understanding than anything else. I see the other combatant has removed some of his flame inducing posts. Now I guess peace will be restored. He seems like a nice enough bloke but I guess he was still smarting from the last battle. I am sure he could add a lot to this message board if he chose to, especially with the friends he has!! My son Peter was quite entertained by some of the posts....I love Dan (like a grandson that is heh-heh).

My last post wasn't so much about what's been happening now as i knew you had buried the hatchet (so to speak) & it was mostly all a 'misunderstanding' anyway!
My post was also referring to 'stuff' that happened not so long ago and why couldn't these certain parties be mature enough to put this pettiness behind them.
But i now see certain posts have now been removed, So that's cool.
Now here's hoping that the people involved can get back to the original subject without having to resort to personal insults that started to have jack to do with what the thread was about in the first place.
They should take a leaf out of Jebs book...it's amazing what adding a bit of humour to a post can bring, there is no need for insults when trying to get your point across!
Both members have contributed a lot to the forum (knowledge wise) and it'll be a shame if they can't get back to that...

Thanks again! Actually I DO like it here, no matter what kind of disagreements or conflicts occur. It's always good to know you can learn a LOT from others, and I already have learned quite a bit (about the upcoming box set, for one ... !!)

Just thought I'd note that that original "Fade In" thread was not removed entirely from the site -- Martinus has decided to separate it into its own thread, which was probably a good idea. When I saw it was "gone", I was not happy about that, because I feel it is a legitimate issue that some people were clearly not even aware of. Not only that, but I feel strongly about "censorship" in general -- doesn't seem necessary to me. People should be able to HANDLE disagreements and conflict, and through dialogue, those things should resolve themselves -- IDEALLY, anyway. Obviously, in a world full of misunderstanding, intolerance, insecurity, stupidity, etc., this does not always happen. It's too bad -- people should be able to see how NOT to be, and then you hope people learn HOW to be. But then, some people never learn. Anyway, I'm glad Marty just moved the thread to its own little spot.

It IS great to be here, and I hope to contribute some, and learn some, too!

Being a Genesis fan since I was 13, I am very much looking forward to this box set. The oldies and goodies. I do know that CD Now is selling it for $155.00. Christmas is right around the corner, so I may have to treat myself to a box set or two.
