Genesis Live / Seconds Out / Three Sides Live/ The Way We Walk
Is there any news as to if or when they are to be rereleased as SACD/DVD + CD packages, like the other Genesis albums?

I have heard that it all depends on how well the studio box sets sell on when and if they release the live boxed set!

If there is any news on a DVD of the Seconds Out concert, please let me know.
And if there are plans to release the DVD of Three Sides Live as well. Cheers!

There are rumours about a fourth box set. These rumours also mention the word "live albums". All this is unconfirmed speculation.
But while we are on this topic: Would you buy a "live album remaster box"? Does the concept of a live album not contradict the idea of remastering? After all, a live album is supposed to sound "just like then", and fans usually complain when they find the original live sound has been tampered with.

Personally, I'd really love it if they would release an "expanded" edition of "Seconds Out".
Obviously, these concerts were recorded on multi-track tape, which means they had to be mixed/balanced to 2-track stereo for the original release. As far as "tampering" with the sound, it's been written that when they mixed the tracks for "Seconds Out", they mixed Steve's guitar parts down low. I'd like it if they "tampered" with the sound again, and maybe mixed his parts back up in the mix a little ( ). Of course, it makes sense to remix it for 5.1 Surround as well.Something tells me no Genesis fan would mind this kind of tampering! Last edited by JerseyJoker : 08-26-2008 at 07:17 PM. |
