Live Over Europe has the 'tamborine dance' edited out. Listened to this over the weekend and right after Phil says, "Manchester, its your show" there should be the tamborine dance and the initial "heys", and instead it goes right to "when the sun beats down". So its missing about a minute and a half---I compared it directly to the Manchester Encore cd. Don't know if they cut that out to make sure it all fit on 2 CDs or they figured the general public wouldn't want to "hear" the tamborine dance.

Can't find the proper quote right now, but it seems that the band decided having a two or three minute dance you cannot see on an audio CD was not making a lot of sense, so they cut it.

I am glad they didn't do that on Seconds Out..... it may not have become part of the Genesis lore and experience if they hadLast edited by Squonkman : 11-27-2007 at 12:32 AM. |
