so there's no content difference between the 'special' edition and the standard edition, just the packaging? That is kind of a waste, why not throw something extra in there to distinguish them more, even a DVD teaser from the Rome show or a song or two on video from Dusseldorf, to make it more of a collector's item. Do I have to run the Hit and Run marketing department for them too?

I converted the pricing from pounds to dollars. As soon as this gets released to the States it will be $24.99.

Screw that, I'll take my chances with the DVD first. Especially since I'll be concerned about the Encore series first and foremost as it is.

I personally can't believe that they're using Manchester for "I Know what I like" - I was at Manchester and Rome and the Rome performance was brilliant.
The Rome crowd was very very loud singing along whereas Manchester wasn't the same.

The Standart version was now deleted and will not be released. That means the SPecial Edition has become the standart edition and will not be limited!

Wow, that's weird, any specific reason why?

Perhaps the management decided that the clientele might have a tad less money available this year after having spent it all for concert tickets, two remaster boxsets, Chapter & Verse and saving some for the DVD?

I think the decision to skip the normal edition and only release the Edition Formerly Known As Special also has to do with dropping CD sales. Not just for Genesis. I just read an article about that, and they said that these days 50,000 sold CDs per week can almost guarantee you the #1 spot in the German charts and that nowadays it was virtually impossible to sell more than a million CDs of any new release in the US. So why split sales between a normal and a special edition?

or maybe they read my post #3 here and realized there was not a heckuva lot of difference between the two without any further bonus materials to distinguish them
