Abacab.

My first Genesis album, always noticed how "flat" it sounded. As soon as "Abacab" kicks up and those fierce re-verbed drums are SO powerful in the mix. Genesis has always attracted me by the drumming of Phil Collins, and they're so perfectly mixed in now. Not to mention, it seems to me like the most "balanced" mix. I'm biased as it was my first Genesis album, yet "Trick" remains my favorite, so I maybe I shouldn't worry about bias anyway

Duke sounds better than the original, but the guitars seem a little "behind" in the mix. I used to love hearing the guitar kick in after the "You know you're on your way out, it's just a matter of time" lyric. With the new mix, it's kinda difficult to hear. Hence why it remains my least favorite of the mixes.

I say Wind & Wuthering, with Trick a close second. If it was about albums that profited most from the new mix I would have gone with Trick and Abacab.

It sounds complete, and it sound good as a whole. TOTT has a song or two that I do not like - still the new mix is very very good on all albums.

My favourite song from the selection is Los Endos, or Submarine from the bonus CD... wonderful drifting sound to relax to.

Which songs don't you like on TOTT?

Uh ... the third one... about that mythological animal that dissolves into tears when caught. And that's strictly in the context of the album. It is still way better than the majority of what's played on the radio these days, but... It's the "obvious single" effort on the album, much like The Barry Williams Show on Up.

Barry Williams is a GREAT song, and so was the album in a whole. UP was great!

Barry Williams is not a bad song, but I think it is the least strong song in an album of very strong songs. Perhaps it is because the "trash talk show" wave had already passed when TBWS was released here, so its topic was already dated when it came out...
