Trains.

Duisburg is located in western part of Germany, close to the lager cities Düsseldorf and Essen. There is a large train station in Duisburg, which is connected to the larges airport of that area, Düsseldorf International. Train connections from Düsseldorf Airport to Duisburg are excellent, with trains running every 5-10 minutes. Transit to Duisburg takes approx 10 minutes. Low fare trains include the S1 (calling all stations to Duisburg Central station) and the RE1 and RE6 (only stops at Duisburg Central stations). IC and ICE trains are also an option, but more expensive and not faster than RE1 and RE6, since it is only one station!

Airports / Flights.

As mentioned above, the easiest way is to fly to Düsseldorf International. All major airlines fly to and from Düsseldorf, that includes low cost airlines such as TUIFly and AirBerlin / LTU . [Airport-Website]
The Airport Düsseldorf-Weeze (Ryanair) is not located close to anywhere and you will have take the shuttle-bus service to Düsseldorf, then the train to Duisburg [Airport-Website].
Another option in Dortmund Airport (EasyJet), but from the airport, you have to take a bus first, then an underground train from Dortmund-Applerbeck (train runs above ground there) to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), then RE1 RE or S1 trains to Duisburg Hauptbahnhof (Central Station). Venue

The Theater am Marientor is located close to the major motorways A40 in Duisburg (Exit Duisburg Zentrum / Hochfeld) and A59. Click here to see a map, click here to see the location at the A40.
From the central station, you need approx. 5 minutes with a taxi or 10 minutes with a bus to get to the theater. The theater has its own carpark.
The theater was built for a musical, which is now not being performed anymore. The Musica Box have played three times in this Theater so far. The theater has approx. 1,400 seats and an excellent sound!
