Genesis: Prague venue changed

Monday, May 21st, 2007

GenesisAccording to Ticketpro.cz, the venue for the Prague Show has been changed. The show will now take place at the Parking Area - Metro Ceskomoravská, Ocelářská 460, Prague 9 - possible due to poor ticket sales. All tickets bought for the Stadion Evzena Rosického (20th June) remain vaild (further info on that to follow). The date of the concert was not changed. The parking area is located close to the Sazka Arena.

EDIT (by UK76): The venue change has now officially been confirmed by the Genesis Management. The new venue is called “Sazka Outdoor Arena”, though actually it seems to be the parking lot mentioned before.

On the official Genesis website there’s a new video (4 minutes long) showing some footage from the test build of the stage. Unfortunately it’s only available for members but surely worth watching as it gives a slight idea of what the stage will look like.

Düsseldorf show to be shown in British cinemas - LIVE!

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

A special occasion for all British fans!

The 2nd Düsseldorf concert on June 27th will be broadcasted live in HD quality and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound in British Vue cinemas.

For details & tickets check the cinema website: www.myvue.co.uk.

...

At this point it’s still pure speculation but this broadcasting might hint to a possible DVD release of the Düsseldorf show(s).

EDIT: According to Nick Davis, Genesis’ sound engineer, the show will not be released as the tour DVD! Here’s the quote from the official Genesis Forum: “It’s Düsseldorf because this is the only venue with 2 shows one after the other. I will use the first show as a soundcheck - the second show being the one broadcast to the cinemas. The dvd will not be being filmed here - the cameras will be working to screen the show for the cinemas.”

Genesis: Photos from Las Vegas

Monday, May 14th, 2007

…or the return of the double-neck guitar. In our it.interview with Daryl Stuermer, the return of the double-neck guitar was revealed. Mike hasn’t played that since the Mama-Tour 1983/84. Now, here’s a photo of Mike, playing the new double-neck during Los Endos. Also, we see Phil in a new outfit and shaved. Both photos were taken by Kat - click on them to see tham at a higher resolution. More photos are available in the official Genesis Forum. Genesis in Las Vegas last night (VH-1 Rock Honors)

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

GenesisAs you know already, Genesis perfromed in Las Vegas last night as part of the VH-1 Rock Honors Show. It wasn’t of course an entire set, Genesis played Turn It On Again, No Son Of Mine and Los Endos (which is at least a little suprise for his kind of event). The Band was introduced on stage by Robin Williams.
It was the first time Genesis performed live as a band in this formation after the 1992 world tour (the Ahmet Ertegün memorial show performance took place without Chester)
Also, rock band Keane performed the 1983 track That’s All (it was the only song they performed) to pay tribute to Genesis. More about the VH-1 Rock Honors Shows will follow soon!
