I thought Genesis opened Live Earth with a strong set, they could have played i can’t dance also, but i guess time restraints ruled that one out.
It took a while to get the crowd going. The stadium was half empty during the set.
Genesis are still as unfashionable as they were 20 years ago, the media gave them little or no coverage in the papers before or after- they weren’t even named as one of the main acts!!
Then you have smartasses in the studio like Johnathan Ross and Jimmy Carr slagging them off before they even started! They didn’t even show the band coming on stage, that fat DJ Chris Moyles was harping on about all the crap acts that were appearing, then he turned around and said to the band; “are you ready?” What an irritating asshole.
It’s a shame that a band of Genesis calibre with their amazing back catalogue are still the butt of jokes after all these years.
I thought their set was one of the highlights of a disappointing event.
