The Genesis european tour 2007 is now history - without any surprises, Genesis performed the same set as usual in Rome:

It was a great day, not too hot, but still 30° C. It was sunny and dry, something this in tour in general was NOT. The band began early at approx 2115 hrs. Some 500,000 spectators listened and watched and had a marvellous party. nevertheless, the band made some mistakes. Tony messed up his solo during In The Cage and also during Firth Of Fifth and for a few seconds, the whole band was irritated. During Second Home By The Sea, Mike made a mistake while playing his solo. In the end we can only hope that they will find a way to keep those songs for the DVD. Would be a shame if there weren’t included.

So that’s it for the European tour. After all the rumours of an appearance from PG and SH, it was not to be.
Hopefully our American friends will keep us posted on how the shows unfold over there.
I’ve really enjoyed reading this blog, it was one of the first things i checked online everday.
Kudos to all involved, particularly Ulli who’s amazing feat of catching most of the gigs and his adventures proved compulsive reading.

I’m so happy for Genesis,missed them in Spain(I’m from Barcelona) but the setlist it’s amazing and I’ll buy the cd/dvd for sure.I hope the ameican tour will be so amazing.

With new technologies, that kind of mistakes could be easily fixed. Having all the audio recordings you can paste that parts from one show and substitute the wrong ones from Rome. There are several live albums from a lot of artists that had played sosme lines in the studio and added that parts to the live record.

I’m thought I heard “The Lady Lies” during the Rome concert! I can’t remember exactly when but could swear it was there!
