So here I am in Boston already! Weather is perfect which made me choose the title you see above especially as I’m in New England now.

Yesterday I took the ICE (a high-speed train that is more than 300 kph fast!) to Frankfurt Airport. After a little hustle to find the right departure gate I boarded my Icelandair flight to Keflavik. Weather in Frankfurt was excellent. Nice temperatures and only a few clouds. The flight left Frankfurt on time and smoothly made its way up to the North Atlantic. Weather forecasts for Keflavik weren’t too good (3 C + rainy) and that’s exactly what was waiting for me in Iceland. The surroundings of the airport are very rough and desolate. Keflavik in fact is a little city outside of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik. The airport itself has a brandnew and very inviting terminal building. I arrived there at short past 4pm and already had to board my connecting flight to Boston at a quarter to five! So there wasn’t much time to do anything but head straight to the departure gate. Again we departed on time and finally started to cross the North Atlantic. Unfortunately our route of flight took us pretty much directly to Nova Scotia and New Foundland so we didn’t overfly the south of Greenland which is always a spectacular view! After a very pleasant and calm flight we descended into Boston Logan Airport right into the sunset. Very scenic! Customs and immigration went extremely fast and I was outside the airport at around 7pm. The “T” (Bostonians will know what I’m talking about for the others it’s just the subway…) didn’t operate into the city so I had to take the complementary shuttle bus which arrived right outside my hotel!

After dinner I went to bed at 10pm which for my inner clock was 4am! A good night’s sleep later I woke up at 7am. No jetlag so far. I had breakfast at Quincy Market and then did a few hours of sightseeing mostly along the Freedom Trail. Very nice! I’m very sure I’ll come back to Boston one day to see more of it. Now I’m sitting in the hotel lobby, checked out already and I’m now heading to the south of Boston where I’ll be picked up and taken to Hartford. About 8 hrs until showtime! So much for now.
