I am a long time diehard Genesis fan, and as usual. I checked out the tour. I found the setlist fairly predictable. They have always played a couple of suprise tunes, yet always seem to play others.

I have over the years become a bit frustrated by the "old medley"...I'd rather they just play two older songs in their entirety.

Also, I found the recent tour's light show and theatrics to be the weakest I've seen.

I guess that overall it was great to see them again (they will always be part of my soul),but it was more sentimentalilty than passion in the whole experience.

Agreed, but you, in my opinion, are way too biased against Peter Gabriel. He did not tour with Genesis because he had plans of his own, and he had every right to have such plans. It was the 25th Anniversary of WOMAD, and although he initially planned to play at the WOMAD festival only, I think it was more than appropriate for him to do a summer tour. I doubt that the thought of "oh, I'll try to get over on Genesis by playing a fan-chosen set" was really in his mind. He's not in competition with them, it's not about that. It's merely about music.

I only just (last week!) picked up a copy of the HD transport stream for this concert from the web and watched it on my PC... Wasn't actually looking for it but I jumped at the chance to get a copy for myself - I'll be taking this home to watch on my Dad's HD projector (he's also a huge Genesis fan). I've not watched it in its entirety, but from what I watched it looked to be an absolutely fantastic concert (and it's made me even sadder than I missed the actual screening!)

I couldn't agree more Christian - Genesis did a fantastic job - it was the best set I have ever seen them do "live".

And that goes back to the early 80's - and includes the Milton Keynes gig. The point I was making is that many of the comments from certain quarters did not take into account the dilemma that Genesis always face -"How do you provide a set that pleases all eras given the diversity of material?". The result - well pretty much what you got in 2007!
