For A Friend: 'it' congratulates DUSK on their 25th anniversary

25 years ago the Italian fanclub published its first magazine

A friendship comes from joint interests, from shared experience and it develops between people. Sometimes these people then link clubs and other social structures. Before the German Genesis fanclub it was founded in late 1991, the first magazine by the Italian Genesis fanclub DUSK appeared – in fact, 25 years ago this very day. From the beginning a fruitful exchange established itself between the crew of the German Genesis fanclub around Helmut Janisch and the crew of the Italian DUSK around Mario Giammetti. From this, a relationship developed between both fanclubs, a relationship that continues to this day full of mutual respect and lively exchanges.

DUSK #1, März 1991While the German Genesis fanclub stopped publishing printed magazines at the start of the new millennium to focus on the challenges of the online world, DUSK has kept publishing magazines in A5 size in Italian. Each of the quarterly magazines is always brimful of brilliantly researched background stories, up-to-date information, interviews and reports about everything that is going on in the Genesis camp. No less than 81 numbers of their magazine have come out so far, and though the online presentation of news and content might give websites an edge over print publication, DUSK remains both an inspiration and the standard for the work of the German Genesis fanclub and both its German and international online platforms.

This Saturday, the jubilee event is staged at the Teatro Ferrini in Adria (click here for more information).

Mario and his team have done immense things for Genesis fan culture; in fact their merits are without match. DUSK is a godsend for the Italian fans and its influence extends far beyond the country’s borders. Here is to Mario Giammetti and all who support him in his fanclub work and have done so in the past! From the German Genesis fanclub we congratulate you on your 25th anniversary. We wish you all the best and good luck for the next eighty-odd editions of DUSK.

Warm greetings from Germany

Helmut, Christian, Peter and Bernd
