Genesis: Armando Gallo releases iPad Book-App

Interactive App available with loads of features

Some call it a fan's bible and it is for sure a real treat for fans, although it does tell the story of our band up until 1980 only. Armando Gallo's band biography I Know What I Like is most likely part of every book-shelf of any Genesis fan. For three years, Armando has been thinking about and working on the App. It was backed by a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the professional work on the technical side and now it's finally there. For now, the interactive App is available only for iPad (Apple's App Store).

I Know What I Like AppThe App contains the complete book and it includes interactive elements and also music from the band. Besides the option to move and zoom photos, you also get spoken statements of the band. The photos, which were available in black and white only, are now there in full colour.

Armando himself gives a video introduction to the book. There are also some enjoyable add-ons. A photo booth section, where you can place yourself into a Genesis photograph, you may share photos in social media, wallpaper are available, the complete back catalogue of the band can be played in a vintage Vinyl player (provided you have the complete catalogue in your iTunes database), there are links to tribute bands, a video feature with Genesis cover art designer Paul Whitehead and a Lightbox feature, where Armando tells some interesting background stories about selected photos.

Then you have the 'Thank You' section, where you may find your own name and the Kickstarter code you have received recently (if you have backed the project) unlocks a bonus content for all backers. There is also an interactive help-section about how to use the App.

You can download the App for free, but nearly all content need to be purchased for $19.99 (prices may vary depending on the country you live). Considering all the features and the price of a book like this in stores, this appears to be a very good deal.

We will provide a full review about the App shortly.
