Genesis: "R-Kive" enters UK Top 10

New documentary leaves a lot of fans disappointed

R-KiveThe new Genesis 3CD-Boxset R-Kive is a compilation of both, Genesis and solo tracks from Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford and was released last week. A review about the set can be found here. The set has now reached the Top 10 of the British album charts - it entered the charts today at #10 (click here to see the Top 10). Meanwhile, the documentary Sum Of The Parts, which will be released on DVD and Blu-ray later this year) has been broadcasted by BBC as Together And Apart last saturday. There was also an official premiere of the film on 2nd October, where all five members of the classic line-up were present. The expectations were high, but discussions on the internet are mainly about the time devoted to each album and the unbalanced share of solo activities in the documentary, especially about leaving out Wind & Wuthering and also Steve Hackett's solo work. Calling All Stations has also been ignored completely. Steve Hackett has issued a stament about this on his Facebook site (click here), which has also been part of an article on the Rolling Stone website.

The next Genesis release will be a restored HD version of the Three Sides Live concert film. Click here for more info.
