Martin Levac: Genesis goes jazz

New album "A Visible Jazz Touch Of ... Genesis"

Most Genesis fans will probably know Martin Levac as "the Genesis clone". First he toured with The Musical Box, then he went on to do his own show, which is currently a Collins solo show called Dance Into The Light.

A Visible Jazz Touch Of ... Genesis - by Martin LevacHis new project underlines once more that Levac is a first-class musician. The album A Visible Jazz Touch Of ... Genesis contains eleven Genesis songs from 1971-1986 recorded in Jazz style. They have been accordingly arranged only for instruments used in jazz. While Levac obviously sings and plays the drums the project also involves David Myers, who currently plays on The Musical Box's Lamb Lies Down On Broadway tour.

Levac has already presented his jazz project live, albeit only in Canada. A Visible Jazz Touch Of ... Genesis contains the following songs: Turn It On Again, Land Of Confusion, Many Too Many, For Absent Friends, That's All, A Trick Of The Tail, Mama, Misunderstanding, Invisible Touch, More Fool Me and Mad Man Moon. The CD version of the album is currently only available from Martin Levac, but mp3 versions are also available from iTunes and amazonMP3. We have put up a comprehensive album review here.

Interestingly, Martin Levac is already busy on follow-up projects. He would like to record a second CD with jazz versions of Genesis songs. He is also working on another album with David Kerzner that involves solo material by Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks and Steve Hackett. None of these projects will be finished before 2013 because Levac will be busy playing the jazz project live and also the Dance Into The Light show.
