From November to mid-December 1997 Genesis had scheduled the first leg of their North American tour. Slow ticket sales and technical problems caused that part of the tour to be postponed indefinitely first and cancelled completely later. The first show was therefore the Budapest show on 29/01/1998.
Besides the eleven tracks on the album itself Calling All Stations spawned seven more new tracks that were released on a number of singles.
To accompany the European tour, a compilation album was released in 1997 by the tour sponsor Toyota, featuring an interesting selection of songs.
In the latter part of 1997 Phil Collins toured Europe for almost four months. We have compiled many impressions from shows all over Europe.
After his surprise album Genesis Revisited Steve Hackett played four shows in Japan with his band. These gigs were preserved as the live double album The Tokyo Tapes.
At the Hotel Adlon in Berlin in 1997, there was also an opportunity for a brief interview with the new Genesis singer Ray Wilson.
By chance, we also had the opportunity to interview Genesis' new drummer Nir Z at the Hotel Adlon in Berlin.
After the quiet Blue Views, Paul Carrack presented another lively album in 1997 with Beautiful World, which Andreas Lauer also liked better.
On 25 August 1997, Genesis presented their new album Calling All Stations to the European public at Alex in Berlin. The German Genesis Fan Club was there and also had the opportunity to speak with the two founding members of Genesis.
