The German Genesis fanclub has been holding fanclub meetings and events about a special topic on a regular basis since 1993. Find announcements, invitations to upcoming meetings and of course reports about previous events.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of our fanclub, we will host yet another fan convention (our 23rd) in October 2017. Special guests will be The Carpet Crawlers from the UK.
Event 2017 ... from Invisible Touch to it - 25 years of the German Genesis FanclubTo celebrate the release of his new album Wolflight, Steve Hackett will take part in two album Launch events, presented by the German Genesis Fanclub and InsideOut Music.
Events 2015 ... Steve Hackett "Wolflight" LaunchIn 2014, the German Genesis Fanclub (Genesis News Com) will once more put together an event for fans. This time, it's all about Anthony Phillips, who will also be our guest on 22nd March 2014, in Eichenzell-Welkers, Germany.
Event 2014 ... Anthony PhillipsTo celebrate our 20th anniversary as a fanclub, an event with focus on the album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway will take place in early 2012 in Germany.
Event 2012 ... The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (20th Fanclub Anniversary)In 2009 we could welcome another former member of Genesis to our event: Steve Hackett played live and gave us an on-stage interview.
Event 2009 ... Steve HackettThough it was billed as a regular club day, we did have an interesting special guest in Welkers. Dale Newman talked about his life and work as a Genesis roadie and studio technician, and also played a selection of his songs live.
Meeting 2008 ... When In WelkersNursery Cryme was the focal point of this fanclub event which took place in Duisburg. For technical reasons we could not organize much of an exhibition or accompanying programme, but The Musical Box played a grandiose Nursery Cryme show exclusively for the German fans.
Event 2007 ... Nursery CrymeWe used the Genesis tour 2007 to bring together fans from all over Europe in Braunschweig on the night before Genesis played Hannover (which is the nearest city). The evening was crowned by Ray Wilson who played a solo show.
Meeting 2007 ... European FanmeetingThe Evolution Of Genesis event in Welkers marked the 15th anniversary of our fanclub and showed how Genesis have developed throughout the years. This time we had two very special guests, Armando Gallo and Genesis' drummer on Trespass, John Mayhew.
Event 2006 ... The Evolution Of GenesisThe early years of Genesis between 1966 and the summer of 1973 were the topic of this event. Highlights were the on-stage interview with Richard Macphail and a performance by Champagne Meadow who presented old songs in new forms.
Event 2005 ... Genesis Early YearsIn 2004 we managed for the very first time to convince an (ex)member of Genesis to come to Welkers. Both days of the RayVent sold out in no time and Ray Wilson played acoustic trio shows on both days in Welkers.
Event 2004 ... RayVent - Ray Wilson live & acousticThis was the first club day for which the organisational (and editorial) staff was reinforced by Christian Gerhardts. Which did not change too much in the general concept of the meeting. We had a raffle (for the second time) and John Morrel's band Anyway played live.
Meeting 2003We used the Welkers club day to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the fanclub and the release of our very own fanclub CD 'it's only knock and knowall'. The live act consisted of John Morrell and Robert Mulch.
Meeting 2002 ... it's only knock and knowallThis event was all about 'The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway'. Because of the enormous interest this generated it was turned into a two-day event that drew people from several European countried to Welkers where they could see some rare 'Lamb' footage.
Event 2001 ... The Lamb Lies Down On BroadwayWith the new millennium came the transition from a fanzine to a website, but our club day didn't change. Christian Meier played live in Welkers.
Meeting 2000The 1999 fanclub day was a mixture of tried and trusted favourite activities from previous years. Live music was provided by Eddy Pachali and Mushrooms Tall As Houses.
Meeting 1999In 1998 we had the first celebrity live at the club day in Welkers - albeit only via a telephone link: Steve Hackett answered questions by the audience. Knock And Knowall were the live act.
Meeting 1998By 1997 Welkers was well-established as the location for the club day. Rudi's Quiz premiered, while the dart quiz remained a one-off experiment. The Brazilians and Eddy Pachali provided live entertainment.
Meeting 1997Just a couple of months after our regular club day we staged our first event which was all about the album Selling England By the Pound. Those who came to Welkers could see many interesting rarities such as exclusive Selling videos by Genesis and The Musical Box.
Event 1996 ... Selling England By The Pound1996 saw us meeting in Eichenzell-Welkers near Fulda for the first time. That day became the foundation for many more conventions to come - not only because of the good location right in the middle of Germany, but also because of the structure and the various programme parts. Live music was provided ...
Meeting 1996In 1995 the club went north for its meeting. Braunschweig offered new highlights in the event and a larger exhibition, but no live music.
Meeting 1995For the second meeting, which took place in Nuremberg, we could offer the fans a bit more as far as exhibtions and collector's market were concerned. Seconds Out provided another good end for the day.
Meeting 1994Our very first fanclub meeting was a plain vanilla event in Aschaffenburg. A fine performance by the coverband Seconds Out rounded off the day.
Meeting 1993Turn It On Again - The Hits brings all "short" milestones onto one double-album.
