Reports from Steve Hackett’s tours and individual concerts
Steve Hackett finally toured again through Europe with a full band. On the German leg of the tour Steve also came to Hamburg.
When news came that the former Genesis guitarist would go on tour again few people believed it. After all, rumours that Hackett would play some gigs in Germany again had been around for almost a decade.
When Steve Hackett toured Latin America in 2001, Roger King was once more his keyboarder. Roger made notes about the tour and then gave us his text and this is the first time in the history in our fanclub, that we can exclusively publish an article by a band member.
The Capitol is a long-established half-round theatre with seating in the gallerys and a sloping “arena”. The show seemed to be not completely sold out, but for a normal Monday it was quite a good attendance.
Quite a bit of luck was involved so that Steve Hackett played Braunschweig [Brunswiek, Germany] again after his performance in 2003. The days leading up to the show had been hectic, too, because the gig was almost on the point of being cancelled. In the end, it turned out to be a memorable event.
