RIP
RIP indeed. She had a fantastic voice. I remember my brother bought me one of her early albums for my birthday back in the early 70s. Loved her singing and based on the album cover found her to be quite pleasing to the eye as well.

Once in a Million - Peter Kingsbery
And: Victims of Circumstance - Barclay James Harvest. Not so nice. Probably only the second time I've played it in about 35 years. After its predecessor, Ring Of Changes, it's an even bigger let down. It has it's moments, but mostly they are Mel Pritchard's drumming, and strangely, for once, Les Holroyd's songs, except the closer, I've got a feeling, which is just lame. John Lees usually produces the best songs, but here he has Rebel Woman, which sounds derivative, For your Love, with it's clichéd "Let it shine" line throughout, and the just unpleasant Inside My Nightmare, on which the vocals are just too in tour face. There are worse albums, but maybe I'll give it another 5 years..................

Have not got any Leonard Cohen stuff. I've pretty much got a lot of the Essential series from bands I like that would never buy their albums.
Generally much prefer to listen to the best hits from a band or artist if possible. That is of coarse I like them but don't care if I have any of their music to collect.
So the Essential series suits me quite a lot!... So I might check this album out!....

Time Honoured Ghosts - Barclay James Harvest
Flat Pack - Pete Hicks and Nick Magnus
The Night Siren - Steve Hackett
3 excellent choices, especially Flat Pack. Pete Hicks very underrated imho.
