New to me - "new" bands and music

They're one of those bands I almost always like when I hear them on the radio but for some reason it doesn't translate into actual fandom - I only have one of their albums. I should rectify that!

Came across the band "Caught A ghost" via the amazon series BOSCH.
The whole album is actually quite good, but this track is of course the one you might remember

A few I hadn't heard/heard of before. Sorry for the bombardment, I've been noting these down but not posting. Apart from my usual source, various shows on BBC 6Music, I've also been listening a lot to two stations in CA - KCRW (Santa Monica) and Soma (San Francisco) which are proving to be fertile grounds for hearing stuff I didn't prevously know.
Mini Trees - Cracks In The Pavement
Temples - Not Quite The Same
David Ian Roberts - Hold The Line
Colleen Green - I Wanna Be A Dog
Ellis - The Drain
Liam Finn - Wild Animal
The New Pornographers - Colossus Of Rhodes
Inu - A Crowded Place

The New Pornographers - Colossus Of Rhodes
I'm a longtime fan of The New Pornographers. This album (In the Morse Code of Brake Lights) is very good and if you like it, I encourage you to explore their other albums. Perhaps start with their first one Mass Romantic and then sample Brill Bruisers for a somewhat later one.

Thanks for the tip, I shall investigate.

Sounds like the album is NSFW!

Mrs Backdrifter heard this and recommended it to me as she thought it had elements of Goldfrapp, of whom I'm a big fan. I'm not 100% convinced but there's enough good stuff going on to keep me listening. Golden Air by Sun's Signature
At first I was concerned that vocally it was going a bit Sally Oldfield's Mirrors but luckily it just about avoids that twee fate.
EDIT: Just looked them up, it's former Cocteau Twin Elisabeth Fraser.

From an eagles devotee to a rammstein devotee... Reasonably large leap there! As a long standing devotee of the latter, my favorite album is mutter. Also if you ever get the chance to see them live (assuming you haven't already), grab it with both hands. Don't wear any flammable hair products to the show.
New music for me, and I think I've already posted the name in at least two other threads, is this detroit band Protomartyr. They are post punk more than anything else but I've had their fourth album Relatives in Descent on near constant play for a while now. I discovered them because a song from the album was used in a tv show (I forget which show). It's a fairly dense, cerebral experience but they occasionally and often suddenly switch from menacing and intense to the most gorgeous melody and the combination is fantastic. In the same vein the music and especially lyrics can be very claustrophobic and then become almost anthemic. It's not for everyone I'll grant... I was totally converted when I had the album inadvertently on shuffle, and the first song was followed by the last song. A refrain from the first song repeats at the end of the last and the effect is majestic.
I often skim across new artists and albums, harvesting a song or two here and there for a playlist, but these guys have made me stop and listen in a way I haven't in a good while.
I've also had a french band called Da Brazilians on the go. Mostly for a song called Please Stay, but the album it's on is quite good. It's melodic music with a bit of psychedelia thrown in. Nice harmonies.
As this has been revised, the Rammstein thing is now in full swing. I now officially get it.

Lifesigns are new to me though they've been going for a few years. Saw them last night and spreading the word as requested.

Excellent band, you won't be disappointed.

I just heard this on the radio and love it - Undo The Blue by Iraina Mancini. Hadn't heard of her before and shall be investigating further.

Nice song. No relation to Henry I'm guessing?

New single by Maggie Rogers, of whom I hadn't heard before - That's Where I Am
I like this a lot and love her outfit with the black jacket and green stole. Win-win 👍
