The "dit-dit-dit-diiit" starts.
Incidentally 'dit-dit-dit' is the Don Martin sound effect of a displaced eyeball bouncing across a road in one of his MAD magazine cartoons.

You know that one? Man slapped hard on back in greeting, eye pings out, bounces across road, is hit by steamroller. Described by THWACK! - doip! - dit-dit-dit-dit-dit - SKLORK!
As ever with his cartoons, it was called something like "One Fine Day"
When you mentioned it, it popped to memory because I’m familiar with Mad Magazine as a kid. Believe this was a little before my time though. He had a bunch of sound effects right? A lot of Bang! and Plop! and Thwomp!

He wouldn't have settled for bang and plop though, they'd be too mundane for him. THWAP, CHACK, GING, SHAZAT were more his thing. A plop probably would've been DOOP. I recall one was SKLITZIT - a cigar being stubbed out in someone's eye.
SIZAFITZ - of course! Thank you.
