Your supergroup

  • I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve often revisited the idea of who would be in my supergroup so I thought I’d throw it out there.

    Drums:

    Guitar:

    Guitar:

    Bass:

Keyboards/Piano: (can be two different people)

Singer: (optional, especially if covered by one of the above)

    Anyone else:

Just to be slightly awkward (to annoy those who want to just say Genesis), I’m restricting it so that no more than two people from any one band can be selected. You can have different lineups for different genres of music if you like.

Although I’ve thought about it a lot, my answers change all the time, so right now I’ll go:

    Drums: Phil Collins

    Guitar: Eric Clapton

    Guitar: John Mayer

    Bass: Tony Levin

    Keyboards: Paul Carrack

    Piano: Elton John

  • Drums: Carl Palmer/ Mike PORTNOY

    Lead Guitar: Andy Latimer/Flute

    Guitar: Steve Hackett

Bass: Clive Mitten ( Twelfth Night)

    Keyboards: Martin Orford (Ex IQ)

    Singer: Peter Nichols (IQ)

    ......

Violin - Kleber Vogel / violin ( QUATERNA RÉQUIEM)

Keyboards - Elisa Wiermann ( QUATERNA RÉQUIEM)

    :)

  • I confess to not being familiar with several of those names!

  • vocals: Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush

guitars: Mick Rogers and Peter Frampton

    keyboards: Steve Winwood

    bass: Tony Levin

    drums: Gavin Harrison

First we learned to walk on water.

    Then we tried something harder.

  • Most of my music is pretty much 90% prog related as Ned and COT can vouch for ^^... Though I do have some other related albums away from prog..

The world of Genesis is as deep as I go into prog. I tend to dabble in a variety of genres without exploring many in depth, though steer clear of some like the plague.

  • Nice to see Cocteau Twins members! 8) (Robin Guthrie doesn't make the cut, eh?)

Stepping out the back way, hoping nobody sees...

The beauty of prog is the're so many genres to get involved with.

Symphonic, Folk, Jazz Rock, Neo, Crossover, Eclectric, Post Rock/Math Rock, Rio/Avant, Zeulh and Canterbury.

    ;)

Genesis falls into the Symphonic genre. :)

  • Guthrie is a good guitarist, but IMO he wasn't as expressive as Kevin Shields. I think the mix of Fripp and Shields on guitar would have a nice balance of technicality and sonic character.

I certainly can't argue with that.
