Not terribly innovative but I do think W&W was their pinnacle in many respects, composition/arrangement-wise, sound landscapes, etc. I even bought it as a UK import when it came out as it was released a bit earlier than in Canada!

There's a bit of daylight opening up between number 6 and 7 on the list. Looks like a growing consensus on what constitutes the 'best' versus the 'rest'. Interesting that all albums except FGTR have multiple votes, and also that the 5 of the top 6 were released sequentially, with the sole outlier being Duke. I also find it interesting that 2 of my favorite 4 are in the 'rest' grouping while the other 2 are in the 'best' group.
Look at Selling England rocking it with over 50% of the vote, awesome 👏

Picked A Trick Of The Tail, Wind & Wuthering and Duke in no particular order. Those 3 sum up what I like about it Genesis. And Then There Were 3 is pretty close as is Lamb & Abacab.

Wind & Wuthering was the album that converted me from interested to fan. Just like that with the snap of my fingers.

Oh absolutely. The first time I heard Blood on the Rooftops, I was blown away. The end of the album with BOTR, into Unquiet Slumbers/ITQE and Afterglow….just perfection. Might be the best group of songs to end a Genesis album ever.

No doubt! I’m going to say something that might be a bit contentious among the fan base—-but CAS has on it probably one of the top ten Genesis songs ever, The Dividing Line. It’s almost impossible to pick a uniform top ten list of songs by the band, (their cup runneth over) but arguably you WOULD have to consider The Dividing Line on there.

On an unrelated note I’ve had a listen to Eleventh Earl Of Mar from both the 1994 remaster and the 2007 remix.
Now I understand.
Stay far away from the 2007 remix if you haven’t purchased Wind & Wuthering yet. For those who own it, I hope you get better enjoyment out of it than I did. Probably doesn’t help that the 1994 remasters were the only ones on the official YouTube channel. Oh well.

There's days where I prefer Selling England by the Pound to Invisible Touch. Overall, I think IT is as good as a pop album as TLLDOB and SEBTP are prog albums.
