We all know the live version of "In Too Deep" from The Shorts live album comes from Los Angeles in 1986, but does anyone know which of the three dates from the LA Forum it actually comes from?

Thanks for finding that website, that's at least some info.
Anyone else got any other ideas what date it could be? (Just because it's a "wiki" type site that anyone can edit, it'd just be good to get a 2nd opinion).
If you listen to the version from that date you can hear that Phil's intro is different.
I think there were in total five nights at The Forum which doesn't help the situation unfortunately. And to top it off, some of the bootlegs (especially some soundboards/FM ones) are a mash up of the various nights, but they circulate as a single-night concert.

I don't want report too much, but on my phone looking for genesis live 14 oct 86, Genesis live 15 Oct 86 and Genesis live 16 Oct 86, there are the complete concerts with PC song intros!

I've listened to the 14th and 16th and they are not it.
That leaves us with the 13th as only possibility.

It's definitely interesting to try and find the date! I don't think it's worth getting into a heated debate about, it's just a bit of fun!
I've compared the version from "The Shorts" here...
...to the 15th October gig below, and while Phil doesn't say the "Right, this is" and just says "this is", the performances I would say are indistinguishable from each other:
Obviously the mixes are going to sound different (Nick Davis would have mixed this song to fit in with the rest of The Shorts album, otherwise it would have stuck out like a sore thumb sonically!), but the high falsetto notes for the two performances TO ME are bang on one and the same
For arguments sake, was the 13th October night broadcast on the radio?

Version In Too Deep with The Shorts is with 19.01.1987 in Dallas. It was even posted on the internet somewhere. Anyway, the version from Kansas from January 21 is very similar to it.
Except 10-17-86, the other versions look the same to me and the only way to locate them is "...right this is call Into the Deep".
Interesting because the song is hard to sing!
Damn, Phil really struggled to sing that on that last recording.
