As a drummer for 40yrs and a big Phil Collins fan, I watch the Drumeo channel on YouTube. They were plugging an interview in Switzerland with Phil & Nic Collins...does anyone know what happened? It must be over a year since the interview was done and nothing? I keep checking the Drumeo channel & website and no further mention of Phil's interview? Anyone know?
Phil Collins on Drumeo

Yes, I haven't seen anything on the session with Phil. The session with Nic was great though, with him demonstrating different classic Phil parts for different songs.

Last thing they said (a while ago) is that something will come around May, which is soon. So let's see if that will become reality

... really hope this is going to happen! When did that session take place? Must have been more than a year ago?

It's July. I mean, it is quite unusual that the interview has not been released yet after almost 2 years. And oddly enough without any clear reason being given.

Agreed. VERY strange. They had a big flurry of activity with the Nic Collins stuff, that I'd imagine was recorded around the same time, and yet with the Phil stuff we're left waiting and wondering.

Could it be the same copyright issues that John Edginton has faced with his interviews?

I'd imagine there are some differences, since any music excerpts in the Edgington interviews were added during editing, as opposed to integral to the original interview itself.
This would be different since you obviously can't talk about Phil's drumming specifically in the context of a drum-oriented interview without using recorded examples, especially since he can't even demonstrate the parts himself without using a recording at this point.
I'm obviously not privy to how the deals were done but it would be massively bizarre if the reason holding Drumeo up is that they didn't work out a deal to use Phil's music in their interview before/during/immediately after filming said interview.

Brandon from Drumeo wrote on Instagram it was coming soon.

Well, I won't hold my breath, but I will be happy when they finally publish it!

Yes Christian the interview has been promised for 2 years now. Hopefully it will be for everyone to view not just paid subscribers.

That's what I was thinking when I read this. Perhaps it will be for subscribers only (which I would understand, but that would be a pity)

Nanumani - I think eventually they show subscriber stuff on You Tube, They showed a lot of the nic collins videos. Although I can't be sure because I am not a member. The Phil videos is a big deal and I expect they will show it all on You Tube. They are great a great bunch of people at Drumeo.
