Got to be a new album too surely. They only toured last year and that was a greatest hits tour. But I'm sure ill end up going again as their playing at Sheffield City Hall. Should really just be grateful their going to tour again I suppose. Wonder if Nic will be back on drums he was superb on the last tour.
Well they have been touring since 2011 with the exception of the Genesis tour / Covid.
And the concept was always the same. A greatest Hits tour.

unlikely. He only stepped in as the regular Mechanics drummer Gary Wallis was unavailable
I wouldn't see them but as a Scotland resident fair play to them for not just doing the usual one gig in either Edinburgh or Glasgow as most other acts tend to.
This is great news. I hope they will also do some shows outside the UK in mainland Europe.

I'd quite like them to do a 40th anniversary tour of the first album and play the whole thing. I have a feeling that might limit their audience somewhat but I'd be well up for Hanging By A Thread and A Call to Arms in the set. I guess because there isn't a 'definitive' Mechanics album they wouldn't do it but it would be interesting at least.
If it was up to me I'd have Roachford singing Halfway There - I think he'd nail it - but that won't happen either.

I agree. Prominently labeling a concert announcement with "all the hits!"... 🤢. It's too much like Rick Astley or something, although even he seems to have transcended his place as the ultimate MOR merchant. Mike has unbelievable chops as a bass player, and that on some of the best music ever made... I'm happy he's active and presumably enjoying what he's doing, but I'd be much more interested if he leaned in the opposite direction and did a residency with a jazz quartet or a heavy metal band or something.

I could live without Genesis stuff during Mechanics shows, but if they do it, they should try different songs rather than the usual suspects from the last tours …
Not complaining but just wondering why does Mike Rutherford limit his tours to only the UK and sometimes Europe.
He last played in North America in 2015 and long before that in 1989 when I saw him in Montreal.
According to setlist.com, his grand total to date of Mike & The Mechanics Canadian shows is a mere 9.

North America is a tough market for the Mechanics so I assume in combination with the effort to fly over there, rather to play basically in the neighbourhood in the UK, is simply not easy to organize. Last year there only was UK and Germany.
But of course it would be nice to seem them play in more countries, I agree.
And let's all hear it for you know where.... 
They have never played in Australia.
Would love to see them again, but I don't want to travel too far ... I still hope, but I expect nothing.
It's great to see Mike is still not tired of touring, although they seem to play it safe ....
