    Passion actually was released 35 years ago today, on 5 June 1989 (which also is the birthday of the Real World label).

    I’ll have to go back to pick out tracks from this as it’s many years since I played it. When it came out I was working in a school which was presenting a production on the crucifixion. Always keen to get Genesis in wherever possible we used bits of ‘Passion’ to generate dance pieces which performed in silhouette behind a large screen. It really brought home how powerful the music was and how it fitted the story so well and the youngsters loved it.

    My third favourite album of all time, so picking just 5 tracks is actually quite hard, although the title track, A Different Drum and It is Accomplished are probably the top three. A masterpiece of an album, one I find it very difficult not to play all the way through. Just sublime.

    "A Different Drum" is my key track on this (for me rather complicated) album.

    "Zaar" is also nice. Third track was tough to pick. I have chosen "It Is Accomplished".


    I must say I have my problems with those soundtrack / instrumental albums, same with Steve. But I know "Passion" is an important album in Peter's catalogue.
