    01. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

  • This is based on those that (a) I know, (b) have heard and (c) can remember, albeit briefly. For example I don't think I have ever heard And Then There Were Three and have heard A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering only a few times. I cannot remember Seconds Out at all. The albums at the top of my list I know very well. I hope this makes some kind of sense.

    1. Nursery Cryme

    2. Foxtrot.

    3. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

    4. Calling All Stations

    5. Selling England by the Pound

    6. The Genesis Archive 1 1967-1975

    7. Genesis Live

    8. Wind and Wuthering

    9. A Trick of the Tail

    10. Abacab

  • This is way too hard but I've taken a stab. I'll change my mind by tomorrow I'm sure.

    1. Selling England By The Pound

    2. Duke

    3. Foxtrot

    4. Genesis

    5. Wind & Wuthering

    6. We Can’t Dance

    7. A Trick of the Tail

    8. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

    9. Nursery Cryme

    10. Trespass

    11. …And Then There Were Three…

    12. Invisible Touch

    13. Calling All Stations

    14. Abacab

    15. From Genesis to Revelation

I should also say that this list probably makes up close to 50% of my top albums so whichever is 15th on any given day I'd still very happily listen to.

  • Ah, YES! This forum is official now since we have this topic! ^^

My order for full studio albums would change from week-to-week except for the very top of the list:

    1. Wind & Wuthering

    2. Selling England By The Pound

    3. Duke

    4. A Trick Of The Tail (virtual tie w/ Duke)

    5. Nursery Cryme

    6. Foxtrot

    7. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

    8. Genesis (the 1983 eponymous album)

    9. Trespass

    10. Abacab

    11. And Then There Were Three (virtual tie w/ Abacab - I would like to rate this one higher, but, truth be told, I listen to Abacab more - therefore, I must like it more)

    12. We Can't Dance

    13. Invisible Touch

    14. From Genesis To Revelation (everyone has to start somewhere...)

    15. Calling All Stations (which I really regard as a Banks/Rutherford album with side players; it just doesn't speak to me)

The top 4 are pretty much fixed, as are the bottom 4. Numbers 5 to 11 shift over time, but these are where they would most often appear on my personal list.

Stepping out the back way, hoping nobody sees...

  • 1. Foxtrot

    2. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

    3. Selling England by the Pound

    4. Duke

    5. We Can't Dance

    6. Trespass

    7. A Trick of the Tail

    8. Abacab

    9. Nursery Cryme

    10. Invisible Touch

    11. Genesis

    12. From Genesis to Revelation

    13. Wind and Wuthering

    14. And Then There Were Three

    15. Calling All Stations

Honestly, not entirely sure about the list. But I tried to think what I honestly thought about each album currently and this is how it came out. I haven't heard a few a long time, admittedly.

  • 1. We Can't Dance

    2. Abacab

    3. A Trick Of The Tail

    4. Genesis

    5. Duke

    6. Selling England By The Pound

    7. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

    8. Foxtrot

    9. Wind & Wuthering

    10. Invisible Touch

    11. And Then There Were Three

    12. Nursery Cryme

    13. Trespass

    14. Calling All Stations

    15. From Genesis To Revelation

And I actually like CAS a LOT.

  • 1. And Then There Were Three

    2. Duke

    3. A Trick Of The Tail

    4. Wind & Wuthering

    5. Invisible Touch

    6. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

    7. Selling England By The Pound

    8. Foxtrot

    9. Trespass

    10. Abacab

    11. Genesis

    12. Nursery Cryme

    13. Calling All Stations

    14. We Can't Dance

    15. From Genesis To Revelation

It changes from time to time (except for the first three) but this is how my list would look like these days.

27.03.2015 - Steve Hackett "Wolflight" Album Launch | Dortmund, Blue Notez Club

    18.05.2015 - Mike + The Mechanics | Köln, E-Werk

    15.09.2015 - Steve Hackett | Köln, E-Werk

30.09.2016 - Mike + The Mechanics | Köln, Gloria Theater

12.06.2017 - Phil Collins | Köln, LANXESS arena

13.10.2017 - Ray Wilson | Leverkusen, Scala Club

  • Top by a very long distance is The Lamb, followed by Abacab, so those would be 1 & 2, then SEBTP and Duke close behind and the rest, but trying to assign rankings for them all doesn't really interest me. I can say that W&W, WCD and ATTWT would be near or at the bottom.

    Abandon all reason

  • Trick of the Tail

    Lamb

    Wind and Wuthering

    And Then There Were Three

    Selling England

    Duke

    Trespass

    Foxtrot

    Genesis

    Nursery Cryme

    Invisible Touch

    Abacab

    We Can’t Dance

After years of being a fan I honestly have yet to the fully listen to From Genesis to Revelation or Calling All Stations.

  • 01. We Can't Dance

    02. Duke

    03. Wind & Wuthering

    04. And Then There Were Three

    05. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

    06. Invisible Touch

    07. Selling England by the Pound

    08. A Trick of the Tail

    09. Genesis

    10. Calling all Stations

    11. Foxtrot

    12. Trespass

    13. Abacab

    14. Nursery Cryme

    15. From Genesis to Revelation

  • Always find this a bit tricky - basically everything between Trespass and Duke inclusive could be at the top of my list on any given day. I love them all, for different reasons and in different ways. It just depends on my mood.

For the rest, it would probably go something like this:

    10. Abacab

    11. From Genesis to Revelation

    12. Invisible Touch

    13. We Can't Dance

    14. Genesis

    15. Calling All Stations

I must add that I do love numbers 10 to 14 almost as much as the top tier, I just consider them to have stronger flaws. And I know technically FGTR is weaker than the albums below it, but I've always loved the simple charm of it, as well as Peter's singing.

CAS I only like a handful of the songs (and a couple of the B-sides) and find it significantly below par. Plus I just don't like Ray Wilson's voice.

  • Including live albums.. (Haven't heard the 90's live album)

    Foxtrot

    A Trick of the Tail

The Lamb lies down on Broadway

    Wind & Wuthering

    Selling England by the Pound

    And then there were three

    Genesis Live

    Seconds Out

    Nursery Cryme

    Trespass

    Duke

    Three sides live

    Genesis (Shapes)

    Abacab

    Invisble Touch

    We can't dance

    FGTR

    Calling all stations

  • from what I've heard

    Foxtrot

    A Trick Of The Tail

    Genesis

    Nursery Cryme

    Selling England By The Pound

    Abacab

    Wind And Wuthering

    Duke

    Invisible Touch

    We Can't Dance

and I've just purchased The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway the other day, which will probably be challenging Foxtrot for the top spot after a few more listens.

  • Been giving The Lambs 2 spins lately over the weekend ... Some great tracks on this album... Still not up there with the other albums with all the members included. :)
