Hammond Yes. James May recently did a small documentary on Hammond's new garage and quoted saying that Hammond was a huge fan. Whether that was true or not, maybe just mocking Hammond. I will try and find the video.

I'm not a fan of Top Gear but I understand a running joke was Clarkson being a huge fan of Genesis and Hammond hating them. Clarkson would blare a Genesis track to drive Hammond nuts and distract him.
I hit gold on the way home from work yesterday listening to SiriusXM satellite radio. First Misunderstanding on the 80s station. Then I flipped over to Deep Tracks and . . . They were playing Robbery, Assault and Battery 😁

Agreed. Yeah, I just saw a headline stating "Phil Collins sits down and plays tambourine while son plays drums." Like this was breaking news.

Sounds did go a bit weird at times... NME of course went fully anti whatever had gone before that wasn't punk or new wave.
Here's a clue to the date range of the article, if Peter Gabriel is blowing out candles on a birthday cake it would have to be post 13th February 1980. So possibly the 23rd February 1980 edition!

Not a great recording but interesting. Harold the Barrel is on it , I've never heard that live before. When Peter introduces it he said "here's one for the old timers"! Old timers had been following them for 3 years.
