Phil Collins - Neck tie

  • Hello everyone,

I have been in search of a Phil Collins tie from "Hello I Must Be Going" tour. The tie was also sold at some of the "No Jacket Required" shows.

If you have one, or know of anyone who would be willing to sell a tie, please send me a message.

I have been looking for one of these since the early-mid 80's. Dam I'm old...... Attached is an example of one of those ties.

    Thank you

  • Apparently the tie is rare as rocking horse sh*t.

I thought for sure someone on this forum could at least know a guy, who knew a guy, who once partied with this guy who knows a guy.

  • At least you still have the tie. 38 years ago while I was still living at home I got to go backstage and meet Phil in Washington, DC during the HIMBG tour in early 1983. While there I got his autograph. A few months later my mom was cleaning out my bedroom and found this scrap of paper with a scribbled name on it. Of course not knowing what it was she promptly tossed it in the trash bin.

  • I got my Fabulous Jacuzzi tie at Phil’s Hello, I Must Be Going show in Dallas in 1983. Four years later, I wore it to the Invisible Touch show (also in Dallas). After the show, I played a hunch the band would show up at the Greenville Avenue Country Club - a bar frequented by touring rockstars when in Dallas. Sure enough, Phil and the rest of Genesis soon arrived. I went up to shake Phil’s hand, and he flipped my tie up, saying “So YOU’RE the one who bought it!” I still have it, cherish it, and wear it every time I play out in my Phil Collins tribute band (http://www.thephilcollinsexperience.com)

I’m from Dallas! are you still living in the area?

  • No, Kansas City (my original hometown). I lived in Dallas from ‘82 to ‘87. Traveled to DC in ‘07 for the Turn It On Again tour and to DC again for last year’s The Last Domino tour. KC is where the Phil Collins Experience is based, but we play all around the country - 4-city mini tour back east next week.
