  • Biden is confident he will take Arizona and Pennsylvania, his home state. So glad he took Wisconsin and Michigan. I really don't see a path to success for Trump. If Biden gets Nevada and Arizona, he will have the 270 electoral votes he needs to win the election. There will definitely be lawsuits thrown at this by Trump, but I have faith that legislators will do the right thing and reject them. My biggest worry is what Trump will do after he loses until January 20th. I feel like he's going to try and hurt as many decent people as he can, which seems to be his favorite thing to do. I'm also hoping that once he becomes a private citizen, that he will be thrown in prison for crimes against humanity. He has mentioned recently that if he loses the election, we will never see him again. The best thing he could do for this country is leave it.

It seems odd that Trump will do everything to sue those votes. :(

Would certainly not lose sleep if I never see Trump again. Though it worries me he might move to Scotland if he fails. =O

The UK are still trying to find the Covid Anti -Virus, not a Trump anti-virus. :D;)

  • I would like to think that the premature calling of victory, and the stuff about how they should keep counting in the states he's winning but stop counting in the states he's losing, might finally open some eyes. But then I have thought that for four years.

Yes exactly. It's not as though the last 4 years have been short of stuff he's said and done that you'd think would open enough people's eyes.

I read that thanks to his desperate shrieking rhetoric, a crowd of protestors tried forcing their way into the Detroit count to try stopping it. So he's put the security guards at risk.

It doesn't seem odd to me at all - entirely expected. Exactly the sort of desperate baseless demented thing he'd do. What's happened to Giuliani over the years? I had the impression he was fairly well respected even among Dems but under Trump's employment he's absorbed the mania and seems to be regurgitating it. He's a lawyer isn't he? He must know there are no legal grounds and no evidence for contesting the vote. He clearly has no shame or dignity.

What's this about that piece of scum possibly moving to my home land? Has this been hinted at?

    Abandon all reason

  • He probably doesn't but I reckon people around him know he's done, he'll, as usual try to get something out of it. He'll dangle civil unrest and even civil war to get a full pardon, there are several lawsuits looming and once he's done the GOP will dump him. A useful idiot is only an idiot when no longer useful.

  • Good to see Biden is very close to a win, although it's a shame the Dems once again failed to gain to Senate.

Re-electing Susan Collins in Maine is just indefensible.

They are tied at the moment, even though two independents are affiliated with the Dems, in which case I believe the VP's vote would be decisive. I agree on Collins, Susan, not Phil but it was even worse with Perdue, Graham and McConnell.

  • I am surrounded by people who praise Trump; friends and family. Only myself, my wife, my adult daughter, a couple of my granddaughters and my mother cannot tolerate him. Everyone else drank the Kool-aid. I am constantly baffled by their adoration of this man-boy whom they believe is a Christian. His actions show him as anything but. The one who hurts me the most is my brother, who I feel is just keeping peace in his home. His wife (my sister-in-law) truly believes that Hillary Clinton is running a child porn operation out of the back of a pizza parlour, and that Democrats eat babies. I'm not joking. This woman has a poisoned mind. I don't know what the world is coming to. This time next year, with any ounce of luck, we will have a sane man in the White House, and hopefully our global allies will accept our apologies for how horribly they were treated by that sick f**k. We need to get back to making this world a better place for everyone.

These are interesting people, so to speak- I'm always left wondering how many of them know it's complete BS and how many really believe it. I generally don't engage them, because let's face it, it's a massive waste of everybody's time but they are here, they are loud, they take up space and in general they do represent a problem, so it's not always possible to ignore them. When pushed, it's never on the internet, I refused to be lured and as I said, I try to understand whether they are delusional or just in bad faith, in either case, amazing how they never have a cogent answer to any possible question, they adopt a sort of circular logic I've only found in religious zealots but then again. the lists of these people often overlap.

  • I'd like to add, that I followed everything about Trump since 2017. Every imbecilic tweet, every scandal, every antic, every lie, every insane moment, every unconstitutional disgrace, every psychopathic crime against humanity. Trump is the worst leader of any country in modern history and these last four years have aged me. And I'm not even American! This whole presidency was like an extremely moronic reality TV show that transformed into a multi-layered political crime drama, there were so many times when I had to question reality. So many characters too... Stormy Daniels, The Mooch, William Barr, Kavanaugh...

Why? Where has it got you, apart from maybe depressed? I didn't bother, and STILL came to exactly the same conclusion as you.

It's to be hoped that he gets his come-uppance when the tax people etc catch up with him, but frankly, if he just disappears and Brand Trump never gets near any political office ever again, I'll be quite content.

Putting the old-fashioned Staffordshire plate in the dishwasher!

  • Yep. People are worried that he's going to stay involved in Republican issues after he leaves the White House, but he never was a politician just a rich f**k who saw an opportunity to hide from the tax man for 8 years. He's not done one thing for the American people. So, after 4 horrible years, he's going to be fed to the sharks he's been hiding from thanks to those who see him for what he really is, a self-serving good-for-nothing traitor. They used to hang people for less than what Trump has done. No, I don't think he'll be putting his nose into anything political once his election lawsuits against the Democrats are thrown out for not having any evidence of fraud.

  • Congratulations to Joe & Kamala! The first song that came into my head this morning was Bright Side Of The Road by Van Morrison - but coming here, I now think It's Gonna Get Better, because Joe has Just A Job To Do. A very big job, admittedly.

I love your avatar! The songs are very appropriate too. :)

  • This feels like a great day for basic decency. I'm delighted for the US, and for the world.

I'm just guessing this might possibly be among the principal reasons he's gone into shrieking mega tantrum mode even by his standards.

On another note, will the fleet of Melanias now be decommissioned?

  • Just heard Joe and Kamala give their acceptance speech. They both brought tears of joy to our eyes. They are the leaders this nation needs to help heal us during these disturbing times. Unity, faith and hope is what we'll see coming from the White House. I'm hoping the Democrats can take the lead in the Senate. We need 2 seats from Georgia whose candidates' votes were too close and will have to have a runoff (re-vote) on January 5th. The Democrats need those 2 seats to take the majority in the Senate. We already have a majority in the House of Representatives. It would be wonderful to have all 3 levels of government be Democrat; the President, the Senate and the House. So much good would get done.
