  • The best PG-era album.

My favorite is "Cinema Show." "Dancing" and "Firth" are the (obvious) other choices.

BTW, you may want to correct the heading:

"Your favorite tracks on "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" - pick up to THREE tracks"

It’s good to not be like anybody else. If you’re getting confused with another group too often, then what you did probably wasn’t worth doing.

  • My favourite Genesis album, one of the first I bought and as the ‘record player’ was in the room where mum, dad and nan watched telly I played it each night under heavy 1970s headphones and relished every note. I think it’s brilliantly played and produced, a real step up from Foxtrot. Lyrically very absorbing- a bit cluttered by modern standards- but hey, this was the seventies. Not a bad track in sight for me, I am surprised Tony berates After the Ordeal which I think is very evocative of the aftermath of the Battle of Epping Forest and Aisle of Plenty suits the theme of the album beautifully. Also my favourite album cover,

their first ‘hit’ single and at least three of their best tracks. A real peak.

  • Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, Firth of Fifth, and Cinema Show for me. Probably not surprising choices, but the only debate I had was possibly choosing Battle of Epping Forest in place of Moonlit Knight. In the end I chose Moonlit Knight because I think makes a stronger statement overall and it's a hell of a way to open an album.

  • Interesting to see what no one has picked yet: Aisle of Plenty, and (very strangely) I Know What I Like!

  • Regarding Lamb you can choose six tracks because it's a double album.

From SEBTP my choices are Moonlight Knight, Firth Of Fifth & IKWIL (and I am the only person who has chosen that so far)!

  • Regarding Lamb you can choose six tracks because it's a double album.

My point is that the poll at the top of this page says "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" when it should say "Selling England By The Pound."

fixed that. Probably just a copy & paste issue

  • I went for the 3 which were top anyway - FOF, CS and DWTML. Im not at all surprised to see those 3 top. Though I love every second of this album, those 3 pick themselves for me.

FOF and CS are probably my 2 favourite ever Genesis tracks and I find it hard to pick between them. The musicianship is great of course, but it goes way beyond that.

I could hear the instrumental section from CS everyday for the rest of my life and not get bored with it.

FOF is just as good, and also contains my favourite ever guitar solo. SH proving here that great guitar playing isn't about notes per minute, but about the feel.

I'm aware that I'm not saying anything about these 2 tracks that hasn't been said - they're not exactly hidden gems..

Edited once, last by Mozo ().

  • Obvious choice for me ... (FoF, DWTMK, TCS)

Nevertheless After the ordeal and Battle of Epping Forest are not really good, so in my opinion this album is not their best. That might be A trick of the tail.

    ... make tomorrow today!

  • Cinema show, Firth of fifth, Dancing...

Also, Firth of fifth is the best Genesis track ever recorded, imo ...

... or is it White Mountain? Well...
