Another year has passed! Time flies ... but this tour will always be special for me!

Thanls for posting. Actually, I was wondering why you didn't update the compendium over the summer. I really enjoy this stuff a lot (and also I learn a lot!).
-
I quite like the album, I think it was a good decision to keep the nature and sound of the originals. Favorite tracks are Papa was a Rolling Stone, Heatwave, Standing in the shadows of love, Love is here and now you're gone, Dancing in the street and the title track.

They won't do any sort of concert film from that tour.
Besides the fact they didn't film a show after rehearsals, I just think they don't care about any releases anymore.
I am aware that a video from those rehearsals would not sound that great regaring Phil's vocals and it also would be strange to have a Genesis concert video without Phil playing any drums.
Nevertheless I would like to see the whole thing, especially since it's likely that Jesus he knows me was filmed ( you can hear an instrumental version in the background during the rehearsal documentary ).
But I don't think it will happen ... sadly

I expect them to play the same set in North America. I don't think they will change anything...
My bet is he will change one song. Maybe Big Time?

I doubt they would do an update. They did talk about an audio book back then (with their original voices), but that also never happened.
Nevertheless it would be nice to have an eBook version, I agree.

40 years ...? Time flies. And we always discuss old and new songs. They are all old now ....
Anyway, that's one of my five favorite Genesis tracks. It never bores me!

I think the vast majority of the humongous crowds for the IT tour came for the hits on IT and the previous album, so the setlist had to focus on those. I think including the full ITQE was quite a deep cut, even more than Apocalypse onward, so I was very happy with that.
As long as they produced new music, they have always preferred to play new material. Fair enough. The 2007 and 2021/22 tours didn't have that, so the setlist was put together without that "new album out" thing. Nevertheless, fans will always complain and want different songs ....
-
same here! I prefer the 1986 live version with the ending of Suppers ready. But that's, of course, not that relevant for the song In the cage itself. 14pts

It was a remarkable tour
I just wish they would have thrown in one or two deep cuts. All in all the setlist was a bit ... expectable ...?

I saw the Verona show and the last one in Dublin. I wasn't quite sure what to think about the Verona show. The setting was amazing, the weather ... well ... not. The show was okay, but it somehow lacked a bit of magic that also the stunning venue could not compensate.
I thought about selling my ticket for Dublin after the show in Verona, but didn't in the end. Which was good,
Dublin was putting things right for me. Indoor, nearly perfect sound, almost no fuck-ups (I think Peter's microphone was switched off during one line of the song Panopticom, that's it!) and a great atmosphere in the venue, which was also not too big. It was also good to hear the new songs a second time, that was more enjoyable.
Logistically, it was a little nightmare for me to go to Dublin. I arrived late and left early on Monday morning, but it was worth it. Sorry I couldn't meet anybody.
In a nutshell: What a show! But watch it inside!

I like this a lot. It has more power and more "edge" than most of the track on the Invisible touch record. 14 from my side!
-
By the way, the Boss (Springsteen) was in the house!
uhh? Are there any comments by Bruce about Peter's show? That would be interesting.
-
I always liked this one, and the title is so fitting. I once did a playlist with instrumentals from the Genesis-family and this was on it of course. Worth 13 points!

35 years ...
I also have my poblems with that remix. I thought the extended Liebrand mix is quite interesting, as it takes the track in a different direction, but this single mix takes away the atmosphere of the original song . The additional drums are not good, imo.
-
I like that one. Surely not one of his classics, but every album needs tacks like this. The first few lines indeed relate to Kiss that frog, but as the song develops, it's something different.
-
14. Video and song are really good. That track opened my door into the Peter Gabriel world, though I am not a die-hard fan.
-
15 without a doubt. What an amazing track!

My top 3 are
Dreaming while you sleep
Driving the last spike
Living forver
I really like the ending of LF
Fading lights would be my #4
